White looked fricking great as a Freshman until he got injured and only the truly dedicated haters will disagree. Im looking at you TT and GC

I don't think you could find any post of mine that would color me as a "hater", but I never saw anything from White that made me believe he would be anything more than an average QB at this level. He is young and certainly could improve, but I was underwhelmed by the things he did last season.

I was a huge NM fan and constantly called the Auburn nuts who thought JJ was a better answer insane. To me there is an intangible quality a QB must possess to be great and we need great QB play to win at an elite level. I am afraid we don't have it on this years roster.

I sense sarcasm, but that's a realistic opinion. Maybe you should be sarcastic more often.

Nor will we ever again. Embrace being a bottom tier program.

Not hard to be in a position to win when your defense holds opponents to 22 points on average with none scoring >30+. Honestly it is impressive that he has a losing record

Also, when you get pulled in a game, account for 0 passing TDs and throw 2 INTs, you don't get credit for a win.

No argument from me. Sean White is pure garbage. We will be lucky to make a bowl game next year

My position has always been that Sean White is a slightly above average not great pocket passer with potential to be solid.

I don't believe a person of that ability can be great in a Gus offense. He could be with say a Mark Richt O. Just like Nick Marshall was great with Auburn but wouldn't in a Richt offense

Dude is a poor mans Barrett Trotter

I feel the exact same.

I think it takes a special kind of athlete to run Gus Malzahn's offense. Having someone that is special with the ball in his hands, running wise, opens up the read-option. Having roughly 7 in the box to stop (for example) Tre Mason and Nick Marshall is hard to do. The defense, then, starts creeping another man to the line of scrimmage, and the passing lanes open and make it easier for an average passer.

Gus Malzahn's offenses have been best when he's had a dual threat quarterback and tried to dominate the game on the ground. It should be no surprise that Auburn was 34-7 with Cam Newton and Nick Marshall with 2 SEC Championships and 2 National Titles appearances (winning 1). It should also be no surprise Auburn was 23-16 with pocket passers like Barrett Trotter, Clint Moseley, Sean White, Chris Todd and Jeremy Johnson with wins in the Outback/Birmingham/Chick-Fil-A bowls.

Again, I'm not #TeamJJ. Posting that gif means nothing to me.

What's sad is that he outperformed Sean White in 2015, though.

The only flaw in this is every offense runs better with a DT QB because of the same reasons. What we are all wondering for the first time is, Can Gus' run his O without a DT?

Recent history (2009 to present) says no, he can't.

Recent history says that Gus Malzahn can make a quarterback look better statistically against cupcakes (see Chris Todd in 2009 for a perfect example), but not against better competition...like the SEC.

Can someone gather the stats of Gus Malzahn's passing offenses with Barrett Trotter, Clint Moseley, Jeremy Johnson, Sean White, and Chris Todd versus the SEC? I bet they're ugly.

There is no reason to find it we all know how bad it is...we lived it. I still can't figure why we recruited some of the QB's and passed on some of the guys we now see on other teams???

Same. Passing on Lamar Jackson, a fricking shame... Dude will likely contend for the Heisman at some point.

its not hard to outperform Sean. He is terrible and if he suits up as our starter....gonna be a looong year with a lot of disappointment. Better start drinking now because we are heading to the bottom of the West...wait. Were already there

Oh no, we suck again!

Thus far in Sean White's career that is accurate.

Most QBs do better than 1:4 TD:INt, 57ish% and <200ypg
