"You’d think that we’d be able to roll through a scenario like this with how big the NFL and college football is here, but uhh … I’ve got some news for you. We LOST. To JAPAN. I’m not kidding you, we actually lost a game of American football to Japan, doing so Wednesday. And we didn’t just lose, we got our asses kicked."

It’s not anywhere near even being the best team we can field. It’s an afterthought.
You look up that U20 roster and see just how sparse it is on talent. Other countries are taking this more seriously as time goes on. Can’t expect to just show up if we expect to win.

Pretty sure Bishop Sycamore played for the US in that game

This was the first sentence of the article.
Leading with this sentence is 2024 in a nutshell.
Pore one out for the "who gives a shite" stans like lowspark as there aren't many of them left.

U20 means high school or kids that couldn’t even walk on at a D3 school. That talent pool is pretty weak. You’d probably be better off taking a southern big school high school team like Hoover or any of the larger schools across the southeast and probably destroy that Japan team

They got sumo wrestlers on the line over there.
That means they’re experts at pushing people around. That’s what pass blocking is, remember?

This.
I did a spot check on the roster and found basically 0 stars on their recruiting profiles.

Props to Japan for adopting another one of our sports, honestly. They are producing some of the best baseball players, and I hope football continues to develop as an international game.

I have no recollection of this.

I enjoy reading the thoughts of people who have never left the south.
My favorite PA introduction in football.
Ladies and Gentlemen, entering the south end zone, the Panama Sharks. Not Panama Beach, Florida. Panama the country. They beat the US kids so badly, the game ended with the second broken leg in the third quarter. Both American Kids. I saw holes you could drive a truck through. Saw American kids blown out of gaps….Hispanic kids helped them up from the ground and congratulated them for their efforts.

They have guys that are throwing the splitter or fork ball. You can throw 88 with a split and throw it 70 percent of the time. That pitch was almost banned by all pitching coaches for a long time after a couple guys had to have Tommy John’s surgery. Now it’s on its way back because of the success of the Japanese pitchers. Of pitches thrown over the last 3 seasons the fork or splitter has the lowest batting against and it’s not really close at .110.
Skenes throw a type of split but he calls it a splinter.

But..It's inexcusable!!!
Jang junior college has a rifle team that practices for the shooting event year around. Army SF doesnt give af about the event. Jang Junior College wins the shooting contest against the SF, marine recon, and other countries who were voluntarily forced into this contest on short order, so does that mean jang university is more badass? Or does that mean diddly squat

Japanese drill religiously in Baseball and other sports. I played on a team of former college and Pro ball players. One of two American Teams in the Industrial League. They don’t normally play power ball. You’ll get singled, bunted and sacrificed to death.
