Finely must really suck if we don't have a goal line package with him under center. Good Lord! 6'6" 250lbs!
The back up QB is always the most popular player. We dont need to be bringing him in and out. It didnt work with Gus and it wont work now. Just hurts the QB confidence and throws the timing of everything off.
That final play should have been some kind of read option with Bo, Tank and Shanker at TE. Run it out to the big side of the field and see what develops. Or just try to pound it. Then if you lose, you lose doing what has been working for you. Not fades to the back of the damn enzone. Pathetic way to lose

1) Shed Jackson isn’t SEC caliber. Maybe he can block, but he can’t catch and he’s severely limited when it comes to athleticism. He was terrible tonight.
I think he’s indicative of our entire receiving corps. We just don’t have the talent to stretch the field. There was zero separation between any of our receivers and defenders last night. Bo fit some things in some tight windows here and there for completions but nobody was really open all night

I was a bit worried about the lack of pass rush too. They straight up stonewalled the defensive line all game .

Yep! End of thread. This falls a lot on the coordinators.

spot on about Bo unfortunately. He will never win us anything. In addition to his lack of passing skills, he panics and chokes just like the spike backwards last year against Arky, he choked on the 4th and 2. I was livid thinking it was called a fade when in reality it was not. The 2 receivers on the right were supposed to run a pick or rubout but screwed up. Bo had 5 options on the play. No pressure or rush but he had made up his mind before that he was going over there and just threw the ball straight up in the air. Tank was uncovered and would have walked into the ez. Number 0 was also open.
That's quite a statement there Nostradamus. Yeah, he(s a 3rd year starter. He could have used a lot of help from his receivers and OC. If we had a better overall option, I am sure he would be playing EXCEPT FOR GAT DAMN TJF AND HIS 8 frickING PLAYS INSIDE THE RZ AND 10 frickING YARD LINE AND nTH AND SHORTS, UNDER frickING CENTER WITH Boots (sorry, I prefer boots. His boots over Cowboy, superglue and all, and I hope CBH and CCW let him wear those damn shitkickers for Tiger Walk for UGA, and winning, for Bama. Cause back Fama and UGA both need repeated swift kicks straight up the anus from Boot's boots. We have to get him and Tank on the field at the same time (still pushing 8 gat dam plays with TJF in will until I see it, damnit).
WDE. Rant {OFF}

Watching Bo in that game gave me Sean White flashbacks against Oklahoma, except White eventually got pulled. Maybe it was by design (doubtful), but those lollipop passes looked like the throws from someone with a hurt arm. Won't be surprised to see Finley get more snaps on Saturday. Not because it's GA State, but because he might need to be legit ready the following week if the rainbows continue...

yeah, there was a moment when he did hold his shoulder after a pretty mild hit. like i think he kind of fell to the ground on his left side and he got up adjusting his throwing shoulder, or something like that. i just remember thinking it was weird. so maybe something was up with him. i'll be interested to see if they mention it at all during pressers this week.

But in year 3; if we are expecting Bo to win games for us then that is our fault. We have three years of data points. Unfortunately, he won't go pro and we may have another year of him.
I remember feeling this way about Jason Campbell. He had 3 coordinators in 3 years and was completely frustrating to watch. We were picked to be world beaters in '03 and tanked. Set up nicely in '04 under Al.

quote:Even the ESPN folks picked up on that. Showed the tackle a time or two (I want to say he went down on one side and then rolled over to the other side with a PSU player on top of him). He got up messing with it and they showed someone on the sideline running up under his jersey/pads.

From my reading of Harsin's comment about the 4th down play was that it was a pre-snap read. You have 5 options, but you look at the defense and choose the option before the ball is snapped. The problem with that is the WRs didn't execute or got jammed up and it was huge overthrow. Honestly I think even if the receiver had been there it would have been an overthrow/out of bounds. I'm not a fan of pre-snap reads/decisions, because you don't know if everything is going to go perfectly.
I think this game is going to tell us a lot about this team and this season, but it will all be in hindsight. Is PSU really that good? They had a decent preseason ranking and then went on the road to beat Wisconsin. If so, then Auburn did a great job of hanging with them in a hostile environment. But, what if Wisconsin isn't all that great? Maybe UW, PSU, and AU are all middle of the road teams. We really just won't know.
Right now the game is one data point that doesn't lend itself to a ton of interpretation.

Ouch
That QB had time to smoke a brisket before throwing the ball.
We need #5 of Penn St to enter the transfer Portal and come to Auburn this week.
