After 8 seasons, Gus had loaded up the roster with so much talent and developed players in a way that led us to a top 100 NFL draft pick.

Let’s hear it for the 49 million dollar man!

Press: “Coach Malzahn, can you comment on Anthony Schwartz being the fist AU player off the board with the 91rst pick?”

CGM: “Top 100 pick. He’s fast. Call him “Flash.” One of the fastest players in football. No doubt.”

I too dislike that man. He’s a joke. I’m still angry about the shite state of our program/roster he left us with as well.

I approve of this thread.

ETA

There needs to be a daily reminder of how a % of you wanted to keep Gus. Don't hate OP for helping us remember history.

You forgot to include "Had a good week of practice the week before the draft".

I’m not sure why we needed another draft thread. Or is this just a dump on Gus thread. It is what it is. Schwartz could’ve played for Harsin. He could’ve built up his positioning.

Not to defend or anything just stating a fact. Schwartz was the 31st WR in his class coming out of high school. He was drafted the 15th WR. Is that development or no?

Seth was the 35th WR his class (same class).

What I’m saying is a composite of the recruiting experts thought they were “worse” then where they would be drafted.

That’s why I have been saying we have got to get some Top 10 WRs to really become an elite offense. You can’t take 30s-60s and expect them to get drafted in first round.

Just playing devils advocate not a debate

However it wasn't WR skills...

... it was his fastest for this year's speed. And just think where he could have gone once Bo gets coached up and a better system is installed?

Those are fair points. I want to reiterate they both could’ve come back. Gus can’t eat all this blame. They both had room to improve.

How many of those thirty-one submitted their names for this years draft?

How many were out of football?

Saw a 2022 mock NFL draft with Nix and Willis going round 1. That stupid shite got fired despite having 2, 2, possible 1st round QBs on the roster at one point. We are better off without him regardless of what the next 2 years look like
