I don’t know, Finley was pretty poised for the most part. Nix would beat him in any and all camp drills/scrimmages, but Nix seems a bit of a head case, I don’t think he’d stick back there as long as finely did to make that TD throw.

At the end of the day, I just want the best guy our football team, and we know what we have in Nix. Maybe finely could develop with experience.

Harsin and Bobo being ex QBs, may be using the reasoning that you don't lose your starting position over 1 game?

It's been done before like this, even in the pros.

the fanbase is always going to be split.

Harsin basically said in his presser today that he puts zero stock into what a depth chart says and it can change daily

I'm not trying to take anything away from Finley - I wish we had that same performance in a big game against a real opponent to judge on. As it stands it was a poised performance in a high-stress situation (the risk of a monumental embarrassment), but I do think it's mitigated by the fact that GSU just isn't very good and Finley only had to make one play of significance. And not to be debbie downer, but that play could have just as easily gone wrong.

My overarching theme on this debacle is that it's made a lot more difficult by the fact that the guy getting dethroned - Bo - is probably the MORE dynamic player. A lot of times for AU it's been the opposite, you've got the steady, sluggish hand vs. the up and comer who can mess with defenses and wow with some athleticism.

Bo and TJ are about the same. Team seems to want to play for him. Give him all the snaps this week and see what happens.

And you are basing your assessment of TJ on what?

I remember when Auburn played LSU last year the pre game talk was about Finleys poise. He is certainly a lot more mettle in demeanor.

I do think he has that going for him but he still gets pressured into mistakes. He has enough talent to do things but Bo has more upside.

Bo needs to open his eyes if he wants to be drafted though. Answer the wake up call.

I just want to beat LSU in Baton Rouge. I don't care if Carlson is tossing passes or handing off. End this misery! One of these guys needs a career day. We are due!

The team was good enough with Bo last year to beat LSU by 30… he’s out best option (unfortunately).

Exactly: do think it's mitigated by the fact that GSU just isn't very good and Finley only had to make one play of significance.

And that was a busted play, in SEC play it would have been a sack.

I’d hardly call the TD the ‘only play of significance’ in a 98-yard drive.

That "one" play was the culmination of a 98 yard drive! Remind me, how many long drives did NIX have for 3/4 of the game that he played in, that resulted in a TD?

Not when it's a road game...

I think it's ok for Harsin to use who does the job, if they don't bring in the other guy.

I hate that way of playing QBs, but this year is the year to find anyway possible to win any game.

Don't let the QB be the reason to hold us back...

From what little I've seen of Finley, he reminds me of Jamarcus Russel in college (not to be confused with Pro Jamarcus Russel). Big impressive physical specimen who will make some incredible "WOW" plays because of the big arm and stature but tends to miss too many easy reads and wide open passes.

I honestly don't think it is. I mean our qb play is not good, but I am hard pressed to find anything really good about the performance Saturday.

"Don't let the QB be ONE of the reasons to hold us back...".
