Jvillle, we saw a glimpse with the triple option (a beauty)

But here you go:

People don’t even think about that was Ashford’s first time playing a college game, and he outshined Scooter. He’s only going to get better with more game experience.

Okay. You're right. Harsin will follow whatever you want.

TJ threw the ball well but had two interceptions.

Ashford ran well and threw the deep ball well with no interceptions but, should have had one.

I, like most, don't care who is the starter as long as the best wins.

Some on here want the best guy to win as long as it's their guy that wins.

Well, the best guy isn’t TJ so you can hang that shite up.

he threw the short and intermediate well also.

I am not saying he will or won't start. I am saying TJ sat the entire game after the first possession of the second half. That was kind of a tell to me.

I’m still dumbfounded Calzada didn’t get any time and can’t get past that. The narrative all summer was the job was his to lose, and now he has completely disappeared. He was a known quantity coming in so how did we get sold a bag of goods to the point where a former baseball player took his reps? Don’t get me wrong I don’t think he’s that good because he’s was mostly inconsistent, but when’s he on he can beat Bama. Did anybody else notice the cameras trying to find Calzada but not finding him? I’m no stranger to sentiment quickly disappearing (just this morning I read about Finley being a leader on the field) but I feel uncertain on whether Calzada is even in Auburn or whether gamesmanship is going on.

I think that injury affected him more than anyone will say.

Calzada was at or near the bottom in a lot of stats.. what happened was people looked at the Bama game and read too much into it

Edit-- Here at the stats copied from a reddit post when TJ was named starter.

Calzada Passer Rating: 123.7
(2nd worse in the SEC) (#100 out of 130 nationally)
Calzada Average QBR: 57.4
(2nd worse in the SEC)(#71 nationally)
Calzada PAA (points attributed each game to the QB): -.04
(2nd worse in the SEC)(#90 nationally)
Calzada Average YPA: 6.7
(2nd worse in the SEC)(#103 nationally)
Calzada completion %: 56.1
(2nd worse in the SEC)(#111 nationally)
Calzada yards: 2,185
(3rd worse in the SEC)(#76 nationally)
Calzada TD/INT ratio: 1.88 (17/9)
(4th worse in the SEC)(too lazy to calculate that nationally)

My guess is TJ starts next week, and hopefully learns how to see safeties in the secondary, but we'll see the same amount of Ashford we saw tonight.

Now, going into PSU, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Ashford is starting.

Cam Riley had 14 tackles all of last year. 15 tonight.

He was on the bench. I saw him at least twice when they showed the offense sitting on the sidelines.

At one point, they showed all 3 qbs standing together on the sidelines early in the game.

Only Holden and the walk on were in the signal caller vests.

We ran the ball decent.

QB play and WR play is gonna be an up hill battle. At least we know Var can still get open.

I still will never accept a primary zone base on defense. Thought Riley played well and not much from Owen that I could tell but haven’t watched the game again yet.

I thought the WR's played well. Tank still struggles catching the ball. Shenker dropped a perfect throw. Other than that, I thought it was solid.

They showed him multiple times standing on the sidelines. I think the weather prevented us from ever getting into a rhythm in the second half but all in all I liked what I saw.

[quote]This is the first year in a while we don’t have an elite lockdown CB. Simpson is solid and there’s a reason we didn’t really hear his name, but the rest of the guys make me a little nervous. Guys at the end look disinterested.[/quote

I noticed as well, did not call Simpson's name ALL night, boy must have been doing some work on his side.
