from Jason Caldwell - Just got confirmation from a source very close to the situation that the rumor is "completely false". Just wanted to end this thread before it gets out of hand.

A little late there bro

I was asking about your other post. Was that Caldwell?

I am afraid that some of our fans will turn on our trees if Gus doesn't name a starter soon.

You're going to bump my posts saying I preferred him to JFIII?

Disclaimer: I don't care if you believe this or not. No, White didn't fail a drug test. But from someone close to players (AU student), SW isn't very happy @ AU & not big on Malzahn. Not a great relationship. Obviously not a stretch to say he would transfer IF not named starter. From someone at practice yesterday, JFIII was removed from QB rotation in the middle of practice-- for terrible accuracy. Obviously don't know what that will look like today, but this is betw JJ & SW.

with your post he replied to. The bold part was directed at Dixie. He comprehended your post just fine.

FWIW, I mention Todd because he isn't a quarterback that was both recruited and developed by Malzahn.

My larger point is that none of the players that have been both recruited and developed by Gus at AU have been anything but a dumpster fire to date. The truly great QB's we've had have been JUCO transfers and therefore developed by someone else entirely. I think I'd be hard pressed to find anyone that disagrees with that.

I mean, come on, who wants to be the next Frazier or Moseley or Johnson or White? If I'm a senior HS QB with other offers, I'm looking elsewhere, frankly.

I would argue that he both recruited and devolped Nick Marshall. And I would argue that Sean White isn't a dumpster fire (though I've already been down that road enough times that I don't want to go down it again).

Nick Marshall was really really good at one thing, and I do agree that Malzahn was crucial in that, but it did take us 3-4 games before we even really figured out the read option cheat code.

I won't call Sean White a dumpster fire only because he was an injured redshirt freshman last year, but the verdict is certainly still out if he doesn't improve from last season.

Marshall threw more picks in JUCO than two years at Auburn. I don't think much development was going on pre AU

Yep, he said you wouldn't know the truth if Ellis Johnson hit you over the fricking head with it.

After 2014, he is not going to allow the Marshall's, and the Mincy's, to be viewed as the team leaders.
