Strange. Honestly shocked he’s still on staff after all this time

Don’t think Dell would leave without a OC title. Maybe a assistant HC?

When we hired Larry Porter, I suspected one of the reasons was because Horton had long been looking for another job opportunity. I expect he slides over into that role, but I could be fooled...

There is some early talk that they might move Kodi to RB's, which would effectively put them in the market for a WR coach.

Marcello

Here's what Marcello has to say about it.

quote:

AUBURN, Alabama — Auburn is searching for a new running backs coach.

Longtime running backs coach Tim Hortonhas been reassigned to an off-the-field role within the Auburn football program, a person familiar with the decision tells Auburn Undercover. Horton has cleaned out his office, a source confirmed to Auburn Undercover.

quote:

It's possible Auburn reassigns Kodi Burns from receivers coach to running backs coach as head coach Gus Malzahn hires a receivers coach, Auburn Undercover has learned. Malzahn does not yet have a replacement in place but a decision could be coming soon. Tight ends coach Larry Porter, who also oversaw special teams, could also move over to running backs.

quote:

It's not clear if Horton will take over the same off-the-field role vacated by Patrick Suddes, who left for a general manager job off the field at Georgia Tech earlier this week. Suddes was in control of Auburn's recruiting efforts. Malzahn called Suddes his "right-hand man" in December. Suddes was expected to assume more administrative duties at Auburn in the spring, summer and next fall as Malzahn focused more on play-calling and game planning.

Horton, Grimes and Kodi need to be replaced. As far as Im concerned, this is only one of three that need to go. Dell McGee would be a dream

What’s the problem with Kodi? He’s recruiting well and our receivers are playing well

Agreed...but we live in a world where people have preconceived ideas and then basically spend all their time trying to justify those ideas.

He’s just a yes man, Jones. No matter what kind of success he is having, that’s all he’ll ever be!

No thanks. Craig led a whiney group of distractions and chaos when he was here.

He made fans whine a lot too. lol

Overall I thought he got a bad rap with the fans here. Fans won’t detach his playing days from his coaching days. Some don’t like him that much.
