I really like the idea of Horton taking over Suddes previous role. I don't think Horton was bad by any means. He recruited good just not great and just about every starter we've had under him has produced.. I do think it was time for an upgrade though.

I would also rather leave Kodi at WR and bring in a RB coach or move Porter over. WR recruiting and production has been good for us lately and I don't see a reason to mess with it.

Moving Horton to Suddes role is a perfect fit and hopefully that happens. I’d assume he’d fit very nicely into Malzahn’s “GM” role.

The logical step is to either get Dell over here (please please please) or move Porter back to his natural RB coaching role. Then just find a new TE/ST guy.

I got fricked last year. Never happening again. Ultimate first world problem of running into an accidental payday

Also cold here but we had some sunshine. Snowed all damn day yesterday and today has been a slushfest. Hoping to get my bike out tomorrow but it looks like I’m going to have to ride north unless the sun comes out early enough to dry the roads.

WTF Does Kodi Burns know about coaching running backs?

FWIW, he coached RBs at Samford and was hired by Arizona State to coach RBs before he bolted to Auburn

I have a very odd situation with my business that makes it tough to handle inventory levels at the end of the year.

It’s diffucult to judge so I opt for more inventory to make sure I can fill all my orders. I hate running out.

Playing a position literally has nothing to do with a persons ability to coach. Great coaches are good communicators, motivators and minor psychologist. In fact, often guys who played positions suck at coaching the same position.

I raised my son as a single-dad. All those years I got that wonderful, joyous Single Head-of-Household rate.

Then he graduated from Auburn.

The following year sucked tax donkey-dongs.

Is Horton the one that has been actively looking for a new job for years now? I remember him coaching ST maybe and public reports coming out saying he wanted out and was applying for jobs with lots of different teams.

Idk, maybe I'm not remembering right though.

He's def been looking for HC/OC jobs but those are promotions. I would imagine most coaches would seek those

Not to mention the crap storm he almost caused between A&M and LSU at the end of this season. Keep his arse away.
