Freeze made a huge mistake sticking with Thorne.
Thone lost his wits. The first drive was great, but after that he lost his head and threw 4 ints and missed a lot of open receivers.

Freeze inherited a roster mess and he's recruited well, but even with our roster challenges, you don't look as unprepared and confused as we have continually looked... getting blown out at home by NMSU, by an underwhelming Maryland team before the first quarter was over, and a very average Cal team with less talent than you have.
Our defensive plan was a mess, our offensive plan consisted of little but hurling the ball downfield in the first half. Our offensive line still looks weak, our secondary was garbage, we've got no pass rush and we were at home. Hugh gambled everything on Thorne and the guy looks like he's getting worse every game he plays.
The man is selling a vision but at some point, there has to be some sign of that vision actually coming together. If not, the recruiting will fall apart and we'll be looking for another coach quicker than you think. You are now asking people to invest money in every aspect of this game in order to succeed. The timeframe is shorter, not longer and Freeze isn't concerned enough.

truth be told.............he threw 5. The refs bailed him out of one in the endzone.

He should have paid for Cam Ward.
Duck man was smart enough to go get him.
All of this is correct. I think we are where we will be with Freeze. This is the kind of coach he is. Three of the worst losses a lot of us has seen in the past 20 years and he had all three of them in barely a calender year

Can't keep a QB who completely falls apart. Never can trust the inconsistancy.

He has 3 guys on the bench that all could have played better than Thorne today and he wouldn’t change. Shitty coach. You can’t roll the same shitty QB out 2 yrs in a row. I just don’t understand why every other position gets benched but the most important one. All these QBs have trainers and play 7x7 they are all ready. Put em in.

I am confused on why we were running RPO and PA. We have Fairweather and some speedy Slot WR. Quick passes and don't let PT think.

We threw a bomb on 4th and 2 from the 50. I knew we were fricked.

I've always wondered how a coach like Jerry kill motivates a bunch of 2-3 stars to play lights out for him but the coach for a bunch or 3,4,5 stars looks lost. Teams with much less talent have better game plans and can actually execute their offense.

pretty much what some of us have been saying for a while. Last year scared some of us with the bad game day coaching. Now it continues. Previous fans of Hugh warned us. Now its coming true.
Our "good" roster can go south very fast with these new transfer rules. Hugh is doing well at buying players in the new system but dont think for a second that many of these hired hands have the "love" to play on the plains. I think they type of player is few and far between now. They will be gone with no future in sight
It was baffling why we counted on a guy to QB this team with his past. I dont know what kind of sales job Freeze had to these receivers we got but I would love for him to sell fish baits for me. That was incredible. Problem is, he is not a great game day coach and its showing.
"Most important position on the team"

The whole team came out flatter than a pancake with no fire in their eyes.

Where were these refs from? I don’t think I’ve ever seen them officiate an SEC game before. They sucked so much arse.

It’s a personnel thing more than being a great gameday coach. I mean, guys were open. There were plays to be made. Even last year. PT is just not a good QB, and Freeze is reliant on good QB play for his offense to work.

Just getting back home after a miserable drive. Usually our STs are good but that too sucked today. We knew their punter was absolutely murdering the ball (7 for 326 yards), but the coaches still kept Scott at the 20 yard line and watched befuddled as the ball bounced 10 yards behind him. Everyone in the stadium was like man stay in the end zone and see if you can field one and bring it back. And we missed a kick by like 15-20 yards and gave them a chance to return it… all around bad coaching on O/D/ST…

Love you man but I’m not buying that excuse any more. He can’t coach.
If you would like to compare our roster to Cal’s or New Mexico States and discuss how they came 3000 miles across the country and whipped our arse in our stadium, let’s start a new thread. I am all in.

The first half D was dumb as a rock letting Cal have the right and the right flat unguarded which Cal exploited repeatedly. The 3 man rush is a formula to make an average QB look like a champion completing 19 of 20 passes.
In the second half, when the D cranked up the pressure, it helped. However Cal went to very quick hits while Thorne didn't seem capable of responding that way. Was that play calling or a case of a stunned deer in the head lights.
