Student-Athlete academic success too. Sounds like it could be a shot at how much attrition we had due to players getting in trouble with the law

Can't be coincidental wording there

It is not implying anything. The 3 things listed are 3 of the 5 criteria Gogue has already said the program is judged based off of with the other two being outside the coaches sphere of influence.

Barrett Sallee ?@BarrettSallee Doubt Auburn's NCAA issues are going to be an issue in its coaching search. Way overblown, from what I'm told.

Yep.

To me it sounds like it would be "somewhat" difficult to justify a Kirby Smart or Malzahn hire with that criteria. Proven winner does not fit. One year at Arky State is not proven and you know that statement was carefully worded.

I am pleased to announce that we have put together an outstanding search committee to find our next head coach. The committee consists of several great Auburn leaders who share our commitment to competing at the highest level and who understand what it takes to succeed at Auburn. I am honored that Mac Crawford, Bo Jackson and Pat Sullivan have agreed to join our efforts to find the best coach possible for our student-athletes, the students of Auburn University and the Auburn Family.

This does not mean they are the search committee, just that they have joined the search committee. If they were the entire committee, then he probably would have said "the search committee consists of..."

Good point. Looking at it that way makes me feel better. I just hope it isn't some kind of smoke screen to prevent backlash if a questionable hire is made.

Thought he was a national guy for Rivals or Scout. I'm not sure though.

We're just excited they are involving some notable Auburn men unlike what they did in the last coaching search

Another way to look at it is:

They were brought in to make a Petrino hire more palatable to some fans. Fine with me if so.

Yes, he does.

If it is going to be Petrino, it will happen within the next 7-14 days. Any longer than that and Petrino is not happening IMO.

Miami, What about Larry Fedora? I know he did good things at southern miss. Also kept the season together at UNC.

I would not mind seeing Heath Evans on the list. At least he seemed to Identify the problem.
