Momentary Lapse of Reason >>>> The Division Bell

(wrt to the Gilmour LPs, both of which I like better than The Wall, but neither as much as DSotM or WYWH.)

Its so hard to choose for me. I understand the criticism of The Wall but I love that album. I grew up on it. Too many great tunes on there. I just can't shite on it

I actually like Division Bell better than MLoR. If I was forced to line them up, I would have to go

Wish You Were Here
Dark Side
The Wall
Division Bell
Momentary Lapse of Reason
The Final Cut

But I like them all

Of the major albums. As much as I have loved Floyd over the years, the early Sid Barrett stuff was just too weird for me.

IF you like them and have never seen them, Brit Floyd puts on a hell of a show. Its well worth the money

Oh, don't get me wrong, I like The Wall, I just don't find it as "listenable" as the others I listed. As a work of music art, however, it exceeds all the others except for maybe DSotM.

It just, at times, approaches Barrett-era quirkiness IMO.

P.S. I need Final Cut on vinyl. Its the only one on your list above I don't have on LP.

Damn, wish I would have checked back earlier. I was in the area. Definitely would have let you buy me a few rounds

The Brit Floyd show is fantastic. They are the best tribute band I have ever heard. They do a great job with some fairly difficult music to play live. Stage show is great as well..
That's what I've heard. I was going to take Pop to the show, but he had a sudden change of plans. Have a blast tonight

I was there for a few hours

I have a few people coming in a hour or so. We are looking for a place to have a few drinks before the concert at 8. I am staying at the Homewood suites Hilton. We are also going to eat after the concert

Any recommendations on a place close for drinks before the concert or dinner after?

I haven't done a ton of late nights in Midtown recently, but I did have a cigar and a few drinks at 617 a few weeks back. Not an everyday type place, but a solid experience. Went to the Barrelhouse after a game last week...really good late night food, decent beer list, but drinks were light on liquor. The Irish Pub is always a good place to hit up

Download the Yelp app if you don't already have it. It'll be much more helpful than me

Have a good one tonight

Hope you enjoy the concert tonight, Lanier.

I just recently saw where The Moody Blues are playing Chastain this summer. I'm thinking about going to that one.

Thanks. We had a blast. The concert was excellent just like last year. They have upped their game with the light show. It was outstanding this year.

We ended up just having drinks for a few hours at the lobby bar there at the Hilton then "Ubered" over to the fox. We were planning on stopping at a place the bartender recommended after the show but we were too late they had closed down. Escorpion. Mexican joint with drinks.. So we just walked till we found something open that late which ended up being The Vortex. It was Ok.

Was great... Ready to go see them next year...

I really did not take many pictures. One video and two pictures of the show.

I have seen the Brit Floyd show, and was very impressed. Wish I could have gone.

As a side note, RIP Gregg Allman! Spent way too much time in college listening to both The Allmans and Floyd.

Anyone who lives in the Cherokee County GA area, the new Northside Hospital and their doctors are lifesavers! (My ticker nearly quit on me)The rooms are like expensive hotels. FYI

I met Gregg Allman back when I lived in Savannah. His lady friend had to be younger than 25 and he looked like was in excellent shape.

He would look good at times, but he got Hep C way before they developed the new meds for it. It had progressed past the point that they would be effective.

He also continued to parte' after being told not to for many years.
