Yep. And he pulled some dirty arse tricks his first few years (and probably remaining years as well) to get recruits.

And that’s just what is public. Got a buddy who was a tattoo artist in Ttown who did more free work for players and recruits than he did actual work.

starting with Ears Whitworth, Fuell, Beaube brothers Auburn has for the most part run a clean program as compared to UA.
The first two probations were directly associated with corruption/tampering from Tuscaloosa which filtered in to the Alabama state government. It is absolutely great reading. Vince Dooley was on staff during those times. Auburn/Shug were doing it the right way.
What happened with Ramsey……I will go to my grave believing it truly was conspired in Tuscaloosa as a direct response to pulling the IB out of Birmingham.
Big Brother did not even get the date right for the first game!
We were first with stadium lighting, first to increase our stadium while they sat on pine wood bleachers in that chicken plant dump that sat 60k while only playing small schools. They did not surpass us for close to 20 years.
Neville is a jewel built in 2010. Big Brother currently can’t afford to build one seating less than 1,000 more just to stay up with Little Brother.
From one who watched the domination in the 80’s and held 6 fingers shortly there after…..
