What happened to the person or people who made a hire without big money approval last time?

Ain’t that the damn truth

You’re going to get slammed with walls of text, some capitalized sentences, and a few questions about how smart you really are now. So enjoy that

You would think the people over the hiring process and the big money donors would actually be on the same page when they make a hire. Is Auburn the only place where admin communication is this horrible? I dont hear of other schools having this issue. I get the insiders dont know shite and release a bunch of nonsense but all of the hires seem to be a three ring circus

With regards to their actual sports: baseball is doing good, but they're always good in baseball. He has apparently bungled both mens and womens basketball. He hired Moorhead who was a mistake, and Leach looks like a solid hire.

In Men's BB he didn't hire Ben Howland (Who did take UCLA to 3 Final Fours), but did fire him. His teams at Mississippi State were improving each season until his last 2. Losing first Round in the NIT last year and then fired.

Football, Moorhead was a weird hire. His offense looked pretty good at Penn State, but that was probably because of Saquon Barkely. But Cohen got rid of him after year 2 and got Leach. He did go to a bowl game after each of those 2 seasons. But to Cohen's credit, that was not enough.

Weird how there is so much drama created by websites that get their revenue from clicks. Every.single.time

If it ends up being Cohen the football HC search becomes much more interesting, IMO.

He's supposed to be a hard-headed SOB so he's not a guy that's going to be told who to hire.

There's a State fan on Twitter who brought up that he's supposedly a big analytics guy and that he utilized Dave Bartoo and his team for State's last search that brought in Leach.

Bartoo runs an analytics consultancy and they have metrics that evaluate the actual performance of coaches. For example, he had our OC and DC as I believe the worst in the SEC entering this season, and he predicted us to get absolutely walloped this season...which has come to fruition.

He appears on some podcasts so he's talked about AU some. This past offseason after he predicted us getting killed, he said he could see us finally saying enough is enough and hiring Freeze. Then prior to the Ole Miss game he said he could see us Kiffin to AU (who he described as making the biggest change in coaching competency he's ever seen).

Consulting someone who actually has a measured approach to who is or isn't a good coach is intriguing. Who knows, maybe Cohen pitched analytics and that clicked with Roberts.

From my understanding or what I have heard is Dr. Roberts will have a decision tomorrow between Cohen or just promoting Rich.

No, Butch or Bruce is not among the coaches pushing back. The women’s basketball coach is one of the coaches saying hell nah. Harbert and Raine aren’t involved in pushing either way however I think they would support either but obviously more comfortable with Rich.

On paper Cohen seems like a solid hire, Rich would be too. Hope he stays around either way

Timeline.
Robert’s has full authority to make a hire. Once that was done he starts discussing with the PTB. The story leaks (like always) BEFORE he speaks with all of them key stakeholder and there is some pushback (Jhoke the joke), from there we get message board BS. There was a meeting last night and Robert’s is making the decision. The only hesitation from declaring it a done deal is that Cohen could still decide to stay at MSU and there is not a signed agreement.

I would be more than happy to spread the benefits and joy of socialism to you, boomer but first you just need to retire and take your greedy, wrinkled hands off the reigns of my society :)
