no one with auburn accused him of racism.

I can't imagine Auburn would be screwed for the investigation as much as the person who made the claim that started it

That article makes a lot of sense. And also doesn’t make me feel anymore confident in hiring another HC. Somebody will frick that up too

All anybody had to do, apparently, was contact some folks at Arkansas State.
Oof

It's stuff like that which makes me question the people defending Harsin. I'm not saying this is being handled well by the University, but Harsin isn't innocent and is indeed a below average coach.

Not really much info there at all other than that they weren’t getting along. Why?

The dysfunction is what really bugs me. Harsin is just the byproduct of the disfunction. Whether he stays or goes, the same idiots are still running the circus. If there was a semblance of competence and a track record that was filled with sound decision making we wouldn’t be in this mess. Unfortunately there are a few people with deep pockets who treat the program like their own personal sandbox instead of a multi million dollar per year entity. In this was corporation paying upwards of 40 million to failed CEO’s in such a short time frame, heads would be rolling everywhere. It’s simply not sustainable and at some point you have to cut ties with people no matter how much they donate. The chaos that constantly surrounds the program has a price tag.

Agreed with all of that. Auburn is bigger than a few know it alls. Idc who they are or how much they donate. It makes me sick how much of this is about pull from individuals.

So if we try to fire him and he refuses to show up to be fired, what happens then?
Posted on 2/9/22 at 9:03 pm to tyler925
You just gave me a headache lol
Posted on 2/9/22 at 9:03 pm to tyler925
I just saw a tweet that said "at what point do we file a missing persons report on Harsin"
I have to laugh to keep from crying at this point over this sh*tshow.

So Harsin was about to be fired from Arkansas State after one year too….

Can’t get fired if you never come back to work to be fired

This, people are confusing my disdain for the tactics used to attack the coach and the fact that we seem to keep getting into these problems. It’s beyond the coach at this point. We will be going through this again and again. Harsin just happens to be in the cockpit this time around, but more will crash and burn.
We don’t need to call upon media types to fill the internet and newspapers with attacks. We need a better hiring process, better support of the HC, and better alignment among those influencing and making the decisions, the coach, players, fans.

This….i was literally typing a similar statement. Until certain people remove themselves from “control positions” and allow the coach to make football decisions with minimal interference this will continue to happen
Posted on 2/9/22 at 9:40 pm to Blueline379
I don’t understand this people that like control stuff posted constantly. In my lifetime only one coach has been fired that the majority of the fanbase still wanted to be the coach. Coach Dye and he was fired because of the probation situation. All others have been fired when fan support had dwindled. Only coach fired after a winning season was Gus.
So not sure where this whole conversation about the PTB comes into play. Just confuses me. Should they pull the fanbase. Hell let’s not even hire a new coach just poll the fanbase for all decisions and let them call plays. We’d win every game then because no one on here is ever wrong

I too would like the PTB to let the coaches do their own thing. Until their own thing becomes a threat to Auburn football. And then you have to root for the PTB to smoke them out.
In a way I’m proud they pounced when they did after NSD.
It makes me think they care about what I care about.
I am going to be most disappointed if they don’t get it done. The longer it takes the worst the optics will be for Auburn, but get it done.
