It’s not like the next one showed any promise either. Did you start paying attention when the scandal started or something?

I know it’s not looking good but I don’t wanna be a program that is firing coaches, without better ones lined up, just because recruiting is mediocre for one season. If we suck this coming year, fire him. I just personally have never liked firing coaches after one year barring scandals.

I’m probably wrong since I’m in the minority. I have no real loyalty to Harsin and I won’t lose sleep if we fire him. But I try to stay consistent in my belief that all coaches should get more than one season (especially when they start in the middle of covid).

I hope they enjoy going down this road because I will not be going down it with them. Either we totally fricked up in hiring the wrong guy pissing away millions of dollars OR we totally fricked up letting a bunch of clowns smear the coach they didn’t want in order to get rid of him pissing away millions of dollars. Either way, this is a fricking clownshow that I want no part of. frick these people.

I think we're talking about two different things. Those teams above won games. Those teams are not competing for the conference championship.

Auburn can win games if we keep recruiting at this level and we can overperform with a good QB (like Ole Miss) but if we want to win conference championships or appear in the playoffs we'll need to do better. I don't think that's a controversial statement.

FWIW I don't like firing coaches 1 year in and I don't think he deserves to be fired because of 1 recruiting class. I think you're in the majority on those

Yea I agree that recruiting has to be better 100%. But my point was that those types of classes don’t kill programs. If you are “winning” games your program is not dead it’s just stagnate. And that’s not good either, but it’s not a dead program.

I'll agree there. But we're 2 classes in a row now at that 18ish ranking and we're hemorrhaging talent on top of it

It's not a great spot to be in and I'd put it on the program killing side (assuming it continues).

Yea I’m with you on that. If we have the 20th class next year we are fricked. I just like to give people chances to see their mistakes. This was Harsins first full season in the SEC. He did a bad job. I want to see if he is a good enough leader to fix it. He’s probably not, most people aren’t. But we can’t just keep getting rid of coaches like this

Thats understandable and fair. I felt that that way about Kobe.

I’d be lying if I told you I felt Harsin could really do good things at Auburn. Recruiting is the lifeblood and he’s an outsider at our program, in the high schools, and in the region.

Optics won’t be great on Auburn. Tune out the noise.

Yea that’s my biggest thing lol. It probably seems like I just really like Harsin but that’s not true. I think he’s pretty meh and I know we can do better. However firing him just to hire Hugh Freeze? I’m not a fan

Yeah the timing is really bad unless they have their guy lined up. Freeze needs to be our backup plan if this is happening and not our first choice.

This alone wouldn't be a dealbreaker if he worked his arse off on the trail.

Skipping major events when your rivals are there isn't a good look.

And even back-to-back middling classes would be okay if we hadn't lost the equivalent of a higher ranked class through the portal since December.

Wonder what imminent means in PMs vocabulary. Hours, months, years?

I guess, with Marshall, the meaning of "imminent" is the new "literally."

Nick Brahms tweet...
"Auburn BoT & President Gogue, I’m inviting you to speak with the player leaders on our team. Your decisions will impact us and this program for years to come. We have valuable insight as we spend every day with @CoachHarsin & his staff. We love Auburn just like all of you do."
