Could be wrong but I thought it was after Gus called 6-4 a solid year that a lot of people decided it was time

all SEC 6-4 looks pretty solid compared to 6-7

Neither is good. We didn’t beat a single school with a winning record in 2020. The SEC was monumentally stronger in 2021

This exactly. If you're a top 10-15 player in the country at your position how do you possibly come to Auburn right now.

To be fair, was that any different three weeks ago?

We weren’t getting elite players before the scandal. What could possibly change?

I mean the 18th class is not good, but it’s not really program killing. We got plenty of recruits that others wanted. We were 4th (tied) in 4 star recruits in the SEC. We just didn’t pull any elite 5 stars to really shoot in the rankings. Again not good, but obviously some players wanted to come here.

At this point though who would want to come play at auburn? Either Harsin is an a-hole, or there are people who are unfairly sabotaging him. Either way who wants to play in that situation?

18th is good for Stanford. A disaster for Auburn.

18th is about middle of the pack SEC usually and sometimes slightly lower. That's on the program killing side in our league unless you get lucky with the QB or you're killing in the portal.

Our elite recruits mostly came from iuco bro.

And Junior day was a complete dud.

We didn’t sign a single extra player on signing day. This is unacceptable in the SEC

Ole Miss had the 17th best class last year and the ones before if were worse. Kentucky always has a bad class (except the one they just signed) Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Kentucky all finished below 20 last year. I think their fans feel ok about the direction of their programs. One 18th ranked class in a coaches first year doesn’t kill a program.

We also beat OM's arse. We can't recruit with Arkansas and be shocked with similar results.

Im not saying our recruiting is good, I’m just saying that having a weaker class is very typical for a coaches first year and to say that a single class is program killing is hyperbole as hell

It’s not like the next one showed any promise either. Did you start paying attention when the scandal started or something?

We were 18th last year with a low volume class. Not really Harsin's fault but regardless that's 2 in a row. I'd guess we'd do better in 2023 but that's not a given provided what has unfolded in the last week
