I couldn't be more proud of Bruce Pearl or our basketball team. 10 years ago if you told me we'd be at a place where many of our fans would be disappointed in a second round march madness loss I'd call you crazy. Heck - I barely watched Auburn basketball growing up. Now, we've been to the tournament more times since 2018 than we did in the prior ~30 years combined. Let that sink in.

Here's to a bright future for AU Basketball

I've definitely watched a ton more Auburn basketball in the last few years than I ever did before, including when I was in school there. I probably went to two games that I remember and honestly, the Ringling Bros circus at Beard-Eaves is more memorable to me than those games. Couldn't be happier for Bruce and Auburn and the current crop of students that got to experience this run.

Preach. Super proud of how far we've come. As someone who went to games with Cliff Ellis and Barbee, we are night and day a different program.

Bruce is responsible for almost half the NCAA tourney success in auburns history

I listen to Dan Bongino talk politics on his podcast. Twice last week or so he opened talking about Auburn basketball.

That’s entertaining. And new to me.

I really think Bruce recognized something profound this year. That he hasn’t done a good enough job, recruiting shooters and that the standard he set was not matched this year. He doesn’t want to be a flash in the pan, he wants to be Sweet 16 or better every year. Expect us to be much better next year. I would not be this surprised to see a couple of seats change on the coaching staff.

I can't remember going to any memorable games, but I do remember going to watch Shaq from LSU and going to games just for something to do.

My kids got to experience some epic basketball at AU as students and that's all thanks to Pearl.

my mom explained to me that when she was at Auburn (in the 70's) that they used to go to games regularly...either to study (because it was quiet) or to watch the other team (Kentucky) but never to actually watch Auburn basketball and I have a feeling it's been that way for a long time until Bruce came here and turned this around. Complaining about a "bad" season with a second round exit is a fantastic problem to have, and not one I think anyone in my family has ever expected to be able to see.

We didn’t make the NCAA tournament the 4 years before I was at Auburn and for 3 years after. I’m still so excited to see Auburn in a tournament bracket every year!
I feel like we are falling into an every other year cycle, but I’m ok with that.

The late nineties and early 2000s was fun. That 98-99 team was one of the most fun teams for a whole season that I can remember. Those guys were killing other teams. Ran into a hot Ohio State team with Michael Redd and Scoonie Penn in the tournament.

In the big picture you are absolutely correct. In the 2005-2009 years the only games I really made a concerted effort to attend were the Kentucky & Bama games

I started watching AU basketball when they were playing in the Barn. Did a Cub Scout scrapbook on them and Coach Lynn would let me in the locker room before the game and halftime. Saw Maravich in the Barn, then in the Coliseum. I've seen a lot of bad basketball, so when we are good, I try to enjoy every bit of it. Bruce is a blessing. Enjoy every victory.
