I agree there, but the one thing I expect from the WR coach is teaching the finer techniques of getting separation, how to work off a DB tightly covering, and getting off the LOS as well as footwork.

I really don't know if Kodi knows these tricks of that position. That is a major part too, not just schemes.
Well, when you only have 3 routes, 1 being "Hey, run as fast as you can for 40 yards, then look back" and another is a bubble screen, there's not a lot to work with.

One of our insiders doesn’t know that Auburn has an airport?

Having sat in Shug's office several times. There was a discussion one afternoon about what they had to do in teaching Terry Beasley how to get separation.

Watch Flash run a deep route. If he's in the camera view before the snap .....watch his DB start backing up to get the jump start.

Ellis Johnson, Ted Roof, Muschamp, and Pelini all declined the job according to sources close to the program as related by my aunt’s cat’s vet’s daughter’s boyfriend’s cousin whose dad’s best friend is the nephew of a big time “athletics board” member at Auburn.

Rumor is Steele was offered, but declined.

Also TWill declined an interview.

Looks like maybe van Gorder will get a shot.

Woe is me.

Back in the Dye days we had a speedster WR named Ace Wright. About once every other game we set him up as though he was going to run a deep route, only to have him cut across the middle on a slant.

It was one of those “clipboard toss” calls. When the QB hit him in stride, you could go ahead and have the band start playing War Eagle. It seemed like it always went for six.

I’d love to see Flash run something like that.

Is Harsin planning to call plays? That would probably have a major impact on hiring an OC.

I'm really hoping for Stacy Searels. He worked with Harsin's offense before at Texas and played for Auburn and was a GA at AU. He's a great OLine coach, and was a "running game coordinator" at UGA. Do we have to give him the OC/OL position to get him here? I guess I wouldn't mind if Harsin was calling plays.

From my understanding, his coordinators have called plays. But he has been a primary part of developing the offensive gameplan for each game.

According to Ron Sanders we are interested in Jeff Lebby of Ole Miss

Allegedly he has interviewed at LSU.

Not sure what kind of impact he has on playcalling with Kiffin, but their turnaround on offense from the moribund Luke era was eye popping.

He would be an intriguing choice. TIL he’s Art Briles’ son-in-law.

With all those OC types Harsin has used when at BSU or Ark St?

I wonder how he is connected to Lebby? He might also be a good recruiter in this area too...

He may only be connected in Ron Sanders' head

But I would definitely be okay with the hire. Seems like a solid choice.

Probably the most truthful statement made in a while.
