What an overall performance. When my only negative observation is that our punter could be rusty in Week 3, that's a good feeling.

Amazing we are on the 2nd QB in the 3rd qt. How many times under Gus were we collectively scream for the backup in games like this? I’d like to see TJ air it out some.

It’s Akron, BUT this has gone about as good as I think we all had cautiously hoped it would

Headed to the emergency room boys. I’ve had a boner since the 1st quarter

The team looks focused and well coached. I know it's only Akron, but towards the end of the Gus era it felt like we'd be playing a sloppy game filled with penalties and simply win on talent against an opponent like this.

You can see how these guys compete on each play. Every new coach talks about culture but I feel like I can see it

I just saw how much time is left. Oof. Are we getting to 70+?

I don’t care that this is Akron. I don’t care if we were playing against air. We look so freaking crisp and focused. That has been severely lacking for a decade

The receivers are playing really well and have made some great catches. Kudos to Coach Williams.

Finley’s mobility is definitely going to be a factor in how comfortable I feel about him playing until we can get an OL that is above average.

It feels like they’ve attacked the ball much better instead of just waiting on it to get there.

Finley is working with a lot of 2s but we knew he needed to get better. He’ll get reps in these blowouts. I think he’ll help us bridge the gap until Davis or Geriner is ready and he seems like he’s got a high ceiling

Agreed, I think the only knock on him is his ability to escape pressure behind a line that isn’t the best at pass pro.
