The problem is our offense will go 3 and out every drive and we’ll get worn down again.

I was disappointed with the pass blocking. Defense got a good rush even with 4. When the defense blitzes Thorne isn’t good enough to recognize it and get the ball out quickly. He was also flat out inaccurate downfield this game. If Geriner is more accurate we just pull the ripcord. Hard to judge in mop up because Geriner probably spends most weeks running opposing team’s offenses. He seemed more decisive in getting the ball off than Thorne was. Realistically there’s 3-4 weeks to get him ready for our next winnable game.

I fricking hate offensive coaches. Can we please hire a defensive genius next time? At least my expectations would be low.

the defense has played well..

outside of a lil'bit of rushing the offense has been abysmal. pass pro is terrible. hoping our defense can keep us in a few games & praying something will click on offense.

it was frustrating not seeing any half time adjustments for the offense. Thorne came out and it was basically the same plays and they failed miserably.

Defense played well, but dang they got banged up

At least it will be at home. Oh wait....probably makes it worse. I really thought we were ready to put a complete game together, but we just fell apart in every facet. Penalties, play-calling, execution...sucks. And just like we had so many chances to win or lose at Cal, we also still had chances in College Station even after 2 yards of offense in the 3rd quarter. It wasn`t our day is a quite an understatement. I hope the team doesn`t quit. They`ve got to be tons more frustrated than us. Proud of Robby`s effort. If he hadn`t gotten banged up before PT had to come in on that 3rd down when we were driving, things might have turned out differently.

Maybe one day a coach will pull the sword out of the stone.

What just happened?

I got some good AU golf stuff, can we just have a thread about that?

We should just let Geriner play, hand it off on 1st and 2nd down an throw on 3rd. Maybe run a draw play on 3rd down every so often to keep teams honest

I was thinking that too, but with this OL that's not fair to him IMO. I don't think he's mobile enough to avoid getting killed.

Quarterback!!!!! We need to recruit good lineman so a decent QB will come here and do well. Auburn faithful children growing up to be highly rated, only to come here and have to transfer out, and then light the country up is a very bad look. Until our coaches prove they know what to do here on the plains with a decent qb then it will never change. I love Auburn as much as anyone, but if I had a son that was an uprising HS QB, I’d be lying to him if I told him Auburn would develop him to a pro. It sucks but that’s where we are right now in the time and age of CFB where elite QBs matter most

Serious question.

Is freeze a good coach? Do we just suck cuz we don’t have a qb and OL yet? Or are we going to continue to suck

That’s what a composite number 4 talent team looks like against an 18th composite talent level team.

I mean, Freeze said as much before this game. The disappointing thing was how poorly Thorne did early. He had some chances and was too timid to throw it or just flat out missed some open guys. It was stunning to me we were even close after gaining only 3 yards in the 3rd.

I get the OL was bad but damn he looked lost from the start of the game.

Nobody really stepped up on offense but in the end, we will not be able to compete with these guys at QB. Its so easy to see

As many times as we have see this same shite at Auburn the past 15 years or so, nobody should be confused at why we wont win many games

QB is the most important position. We dont have one

Their front 7 is maybe best in conference (perhaps 2nd to UGA). They have two 5 stars and the rest are 4 stars except for one guy.

I knew it would be tough but didn't think AU was that bad. Just terrible and I dunno what Freeze can do about it mid-season. I suppose they are gonna have to focus on the run and short, quick pass routes.

P.S. Arky might beat LSU. Just had a long pass for a TD (I am jealous). If Arky plays that way against AU, it's another loss.
