Maybe, but they didn't earn their paychecks.
Nobody remembers season records. They do remember getting kicked in the first round by a 13 seed though. That's what this team will be remembered by.

It’s going to be painful seeing Bama in the sweet 16. We are 10-15 points better than them

Three Sweet 16s since 2021 for them.
Bruce has one in his 10 seasons at Auburn. At this rate he’s going to retire without another one.

They had the same record in the SEC as Auburn. We weren’t leaps and bounds better than them throughout the year. The teams were about even but we choked in the NCAA tournament and they didn’t. At least we won the SEC tournament.

Did you watch any of this game? They choked but the other team choked worse. Good lord we played much better against Yale than either of these teams just did.

Really just looking at how they’ve played the last couple of weeks. It was more of the same tonight. They are worse than we were at the end of 2022, 2023, and this year but they are in the sweet 16. Go figure

Bruce has an elite 8. Bruce has a final 4. Bruce had success at Tennessee. Bruce has as many sec regular season and tournament championships. Not sure what point you’re trying to make.

At the end of the day Nate Oats has three Sweet 16 appearances at Alabama and Bruce Pearl has one at Auburn.

Nothing wrong in saying Oats is a damn good recruiter, motivator and coach with a good system of play. Three Sweet 16s is not a fluke.
