Smuphy nailed it.

And yes Slacker alerted to the possibility.

Cut throat world… Dameyune Craig blessing Auburn with 4 great recruits is still our shining example of leaving with class.

It’s still a while until signing. So I am in wait and see mode.

Rare that you get a recommitment in college sports. We have never really had a tie to Labaron other than Bruce and Wes going to dozens of his games the last few years.

Sucks. Probably over. Oh well.

I mean that’s the politicallly correct thing to say but I give it a 1% chance he plays for Auburn now.

Sucks to lose him but good news is we are still in on some really good guards in that class. I have a feeling Flan has been putting a bug in his ear for weeks now.

Hoke was doing a bit of damage control on On3 saying Philon may have been concerned with the number of guards we will have when he gets there. I might buy that if he were a true PG but Philon is more of a 2 than a 1.

Hokanson has stated AU isn’t backing off the recruitment of Philon, but reading tea leaves there’s no way he’s in this class.

Hoke referenced Donaldson, Pettiford, Jones, and Holloway as being the primary concerns for Philon as our backcourt is pretty full.

He also noted AU will still fill this class and it has a chance to be a good one, especially if they can reel in Bidunga.

AU, in my opinion, should start to full court press Cam Scott. He’s seemingly wanted to be in AU’s class for a while.

One thing could fix all this recruiting stuff. Transfers and such.

Auburn NIL

We (the collective) we as fan base has to step it up. My individual contribution doesn’t do anything on it’s on. Because our big donors are the only one keeping NIL afloat. So it looks like across all sports we are looking around 12 million a year to spread out. And everyone wants to be competitive in football, basketball, baseball, softball, and gymnastics currently. Plus we have some stars within some other programs we have to throw some money at.

Hard to blame NIL for this one. The collective is fine

The collective really isn’t fine. Yes we can compete for elite talent. We can be in the race. But depth upon depth we are behind many schools.

If beggars can be choosers I wish he could have decommitted during the dog days of summer or something. Hate how it feels right now in the thick of portal season and when we need to be hiring assistants and building momentum. This blows

And I’m not saying the bag was the difference in this situation but if OM is competing with our bag… especially in basketball. Then we need to re-evaluate where we are.

I agree with what you're saying but this whole time he has been committed I've been kinda surprised he doesn't want to try to be a 1 in college for pro prospects. He's a little lean and not long enough to play the 2 in the pros to me.

I’m sure Bruce was selling him on getting some time at the 1 but I agree his best shot at the pros is there. You’ve gotta be an elite shooter to be a shorter 2 and that’s probably his weakest area.

Cam Scott should be absolute worst case scenario for replacing Philon. Every time he talks about Auburn it seems like he’s dying to get there.

This is why I am like that for football. Starting to join you on the basketball side. Recruiting gets less and less interesting to me
