The next 5 on paper are definitely really tough.
-@ Florida, tough place to play and in my opinion are every bit as good as MSU or better, and we know how that road game went.
-USCjr. is filthy defensively and not easily rattled. Really tough group.
-Kentucky is as talented as any team in the country and truly elite offensively. If Cal can get more buy-in on the other end of the floor their season can turn on a dime.
-@UGA will be one of the last chances for a desperate bubble team to get a signature win. They've been a rowdy crowd the last couple times we've been there
-@UT goes without saying.

14-4 seems to be the most likely result. @UT is a loss and I think we lose one of @UF/@UGA/Kentucky

I absolutely love the roller coaster that is Scoper.

I’m there with you but got us at 13-5. I think we have one of those nights where focus isn’t there maybe it doesn’t turn into a loss. So hopefully we can finish out at 14-4 and that probably gets you a share of the title in my opinion

Saturday has all the ingredients for a letdown loss. I've watched a lot of Florida this year because I really like Coach Golden and they've had some tough luck losses so I think they are better than their record and standing.

Crazy enough if anyone goes back through the game CMo was the spark of our run to close out the first half. 3 massive rebounds 2 assists and I think got a steal or 2. Insane hustle and physical play for about a 4 minute stretch. Congrats to CMo

I was impressed the way this team took back control of the game before half and never really lost control of it in the second half.

I'm curious to what the staff is thinking about Aden right now. Tre is clearly a much better player at the moment.. but if Aden could get to the expected 36-40 3PT% everyone expected from him it could be an extra gear for this team. I can tell he's good shooter because almost every single miss is hitting the same spot on back iron. I'm just wondering if it might take an offseason for him to find it again.

If we beat UF on Saturday, would that count as a Q1 win?
Posted on 2/8/24 at 10:56 am to auburnnyc94
It sure what the staff thinks but I think for 3 point attempts he needs to be on a shot count. If you get to 3 especially if they are good looks and you are 0-3 you should shut it down and find other ways to contribute. No reason to go 1-7 with 1 3pointer.
If I were coaching him I would work on finishing at the rim with physical play, learning how to get the defender on his hip much like Tre does and play in control from 10 feet in, he has the quick feet to make cross defender moves inside could collect fouls that way and get to the line, and lastly get into the offense sooner in the shot clock. Move the ball then get it back.
But in reality who really knows what Bruce is asking him to do. I think with his size and now that he is playing with Dylan more he needs a lot of pick and roll type stuff but just because they play the under doesn’t mean you “have” to take the 3.

Yep

Yeah I agree on all points. He’s actually quicker than I figured he would be so he gets to the rim with relative ease. If he can find ways to finish or get fouled or draw second defender and lob to Dylan he could be super effective that way.
Just knowing how Bruce is I suspect he’s telling Aden to keep shooting anytime he sees the light of day. Wonder if that will change the deeper we get into the season though

Much like we talk about UK as a team Aden kind of fits that category you can just see the potential just have to weather the downs until he hits that consistency

One complaint…
CAN WE PLEASE STOP DOING IN GAME FRICKING INTERVIEWS DURING BASKETBALL GAMES
Love Charles and most of the guests they bring in but damn why do we have to go 5-6 minutes of every game discussing anything other than the game. I understand we were on the big channel and want to reach more than the 2 teams involved but we all know everything Charles was discussing.
End of Rant

quote:Not sure what we saw last night. He looked rattled with himself. Helped that the team was telling him to chill out at the foul line.

Looked extremely rattled going to the FT line when Broome chatted with him

My bad, baw. I was riding the victory and thinking what a great coach BP is and how his ability to get through to players could transcend any sport.
