We look soft on offense
Posted on 1/31/24 at 8:51 pm to Rhino5
I don't if it's soft as much as just totally out of control

We are up 10 and yall are complaining. After losing 2 straight. Unreal
Posted on 1/31/24 at 8:54 pm to CorchJay
Well the offense has been objectively ugly but you’re right it is funny

Are you watching the game?

Announcers talking through the entire call by the ref…

This is just how conference play can get. Not fun after two losses to watch offense like this but gotta grind it out and find your rhythm in game. We are about to be up 15+ before half lol

We'll all take a win but the longer we look like this the more concerning it is. We won't many more games playing like this
Posted on 1/31/24 at 9:00 pm to RandySavage
Totally agree but part of it is gonna be struggling to get up for a game like this. The goal coming into this one is just a double digit win and finding some confidence. Hopefully that happens in the second half

We are working through different line ups. You are witnessing those growing pains. This is not a finished work, more of work in progress.

I'm not trying to be argumentative and would normally agree but if we are having trouble getting up for a game after dropping two straight that's concerning as well

Yep. If we look like this in 3 weeks I’ll be right there with you all. Conference play is a true grind
Posted on 1/31/24 at 9:02 pm to RandySavage
Yeah but I would at least say we were “up” for the Bama game we just got slightly outplayed by a really good team. These last two have been ugly no doubt

My biggest concern, and it was mentioned by somebody else earlier is that pg is still an issue and this team is starting to look a lot like last year and the end of 21

That’s fair but I still think we are getting consistently good looks when Donaldson is in the game. Aden is a disaster right now and not just because he isn’t shooting well

agreed... be awesome if we can hit our stride at exactly the right time.. for this game, but more importantly for the season.

PG isn’t a concern for me if we get scoring from the 2 and 3 spots. When it’s just the PG and Broome/Cardwell it doesn’t look good. Our PGs are still very high on assist to turnover ratio. Aden is missing some shots but he’s also learning to prob the defense more. Just keep improving in all aspects. I think Bruce said the other day that only 16 or 18 true freshman are starting in all college basketball

The one concern for me is we aren’t good at making difficult shots. You don’t make the tournament with a bad defense so that’s a concern going forward
Posted on 1/31/24 at 9:11 pm to CorchJay
My biggest concern is how poorly we’ve taken care of the ball. We went from one of (if not) the best teams in the country in assist to turnover ratio and have begun to make a habit of bad turnovers lately. Our offense was at its best when we took care of the ball and moved it well. Not exactly a shocking revelation.
