USC’s talent is unreal but their team isn’t good… yet

They are severely lacking an offensive identity. Collier and Fland are incredible scorers but you can’t just have your offense be them playing iso every possession.

Either him or Aden, but I think you have to go with Dylan.

How did we drop in the Net down to 22 maybe hasn’t updated but strange.

Also how did Creighton and Bama swap places with them blowing out Bama and Bama jumping them in the net rankings.

Damn I’m confused

I don’t think NET updates until the following day. Bama appears to have stayed the same and Creighton drops two spots. I imagine the fact it was a 3 pt loss on the road is the reason. Still strange for Creighton to fall from 9 to 11 after a Q1 win though.

We are up to 8th in KenPom. Which the committee doesn’t officially use

I’m sure Baylor getting destroyed didn’t help our metrics as well

Also watched a few highlights and I know I was wondering why Broome was in the high post when usc went zone but forgot they have good shot blockers so that was to drag the shot blocker out from under the rim

Quit worrying about Net and Kenpom in December. At best worth looking at in late January. Even then it’s probably too soon.

KenPom is predictive and thus always relevant. NET is part resume though so definitely takes more of the season to take shape

But it’s based on limited data early in the season, its relevance is severely muted. Predictive analytics based on small sample sizes aren’t really very predictive.

KenPom is weighted toward the last 10 games played and so at this point in the season is about as relevant as it ever is. But regardless, it’s always more relevant than the AP Poll or coaches poll so it’s fun to monitor. Vegas lines usually mirror it

Team chemistry seems much better this year. Looks like a nice mix of experience and sharp shooters compared to last year.
