Interesting you say that. We left early and Beard Eves was unlocked. We walked through it a bit.
I was told the school has actual classes in that old place. Supposedly professors conduct experiments in the old weight room Coach!
The court is used for the wheelchair team.

They used to do USA Handball in there. Not sure if that’s still going on.

That's crazy 15 years ago you could walk in basically free without a ticket for any game other then UK or bama.

I was in school for some of the Lebo and Barbee years and they had to basically bribe students to show up. I can’t imagine what the secondary market ticket prices were.

About 3 bucks on stubhub or you could just show up and someone would hand you tickets for free.

As I understand it the building is needed. Like a few more of you I use to get out of class and go directly to that place sit and wait to watch The Round Mound of Rebound.
Sorry to get off topic guys. It was nice to watch the team in person tonight and always good to be in Auburn.

now if we could just get Denver Jones going

Agreed. He’s shown flashed with a couple 3-balls here and there but I think he might take a while. I hope he has a breakout game soon. He has a really fluid stroke.

I took my dad to the AU-UGA game earlier this year. Had a great time. He graduated from Auburn in 1969, the first class to have graduation ceremonies in Memorial Coliseum. It was his first time in Auburn since 1990. He got pretty nostalgic when looking across the parking lot at BEMC. So much history over there, from Basketball to Elvis.

Auburn HC Bruce Pearl said the starting lineup changes "had to do with some in-house stuff, had nothing to do with anything else".

I called it. Denver and Broome got in trouble and got the starting spot yanked for the game. Hopefully they get their head on straight. Bruce was pretty disappointed with the second half and said the 2nd half team couldn't win an SEC game.

Not too much. A starting line up switch (Broome and Denver out and Cardwell and Donaldson in) and we whooped Alabama AM, but had another sloppy 2nd half where we mostly got out played.

But us saying that last night was overreacting, according to some.

Of course the coach is going to say that.. It's his job to find coaching points in every game. I doubt he is seriously worried about how we played in the second half but he will use it.

If fans want to get angry about how the team plays in the second half of 52-17 game then that is well within their rights.. I would just urge you to use that energy elsewhere

I'm not trying to be a dick by asking this question, but do some of you watch basketball outside of Auburn games? Auburn doesn't do anything that basketball teams do all of the time. Coaches everywhere will harp on the down times because they're supposed to. No team is going to play perfectly the whole game and the majority of teams are not going to be locked in for the second half when they're up 30 at half, especially right before a holiday break.

I think you know the answer

Basketball is definitely a game of runs, ebbs, and flows. That's why I always say watching a team I'm emotionally attached to in basketball is a lot more painful than football. It's so much easier to put teams away in football. If you get up 31-7 or whatever it's almost always game over.

Do you see any of the top basketball teams have as many sloppy passes, etc.? I don’t. Key word being top. Sure, there are plenty of teams that aren’t good that do that.

Yes, actually. I think you don't because you feel the turnovers more with a team you are emotionally attached to and it clouds your judgement, frankly.

We currently average 20 assists per game which is 12th in the country btw

All the time. Even the professionals do it. It's going to happen more when you play at the pace that Pearl wants to play at. If you're a team like Virginia that's playing slow as hell, then I wouldn't expect so much of it.

I'm not saying the second half wasn't bad because it was. I don't think that will bleed over into another game though. These dudes play a ton of basketball.

My biggest issue is in the 2nd half of almost every game so far we've struggled. That's not just team going on a run or two or going a little cold shooting.. its turning into a pattern. Still time to get to turned around, but do it enough times and its just who the team is.

Baylor was a loss and fits this profile. We dominated ND in the second half(44-26). SELA we scored 47-43. Against Saint Bonnie we were up 20 at half won by 17. Last night we goofed off, we were up 34 and won by 30.

Enjoy

I certainly don't think bad second halves is a pattern with this team. 5 games in and we have had 1 truly bad second half.

I won't even say Baylor was a bad second half because that was more of just a team with some new components failing at it's first experience in crunch time for a 2-3 minute stretch (which is a much bigger concern for me right now than being some second half flop). The game materially changes in big moments like that and it takes different ingredients to win.
