Crazy that this team has gone from a single game SEC record for threes to now the only player we can count on from three is our center.
I’ll die on the hill that the rifleman was the reason why we shot the 3 as well as we did...until we can actually replicate because until then we are night and day difference of the team in the same way 2013 football was never replicated again.

I might agree with you if we hadn’t broken the record this year

I just want to see Cooper and Powell on the floor at the same time. Flanigan’s backup PG minutes are just brutal too.

Yeah three point record earlier this year.

It’s time for CBP to tell Rife he has to do what is best for the team. That play and the two shots at the end of reg were not good decisions. Similar things happened against UGA.
He’s a stud, just needs some guidance

He passed up the three and didn’t shoot it until it bounced back to him, but I agree he still appears to get more trigger happy in those situations.

Single game stats against nobodies nonwithstanding 1-5 with Rifleman would outshoot this team out the gym

I just don’t think we have shooters, other than JP. We miss JP, and need to see more of CMoore and Franklin

Cambridge played one of his better games

I mean, its kinda his job
Well, it's also his job to keep things on the up and up (or at least not get caught) and he failed at that so this is what we're stuck with this year.

Yep, Cooper was always going to play half the season and that boy from Kentucky was definitely going to sit out most of the year.

I said it last year Jang. People accused me of being an idiot as always. Chuck could teach a jump shot for sure. Not saying that doesn't still require hard work just look at the shooters under Chuck compared to now and we have danged good coaches now.

Super young team. But will say when your leader is playing what his 9th game as true freshman this is kind of what happens especially the way Bruce coaches. He's not a time out user he lets the kids play free. However, I do hope Bruce starts using time outs more when we don't seem in sync. As far as the players, focus, focus, focus. Someone mentioned mentally weak and I think this team is. There is way to much fun on just a normal 2 or 3pt basket. Get back set up and focused on defense as soon as the ball goes through the hoop. Old school fundamentals. The huge dunks and clutch 3s will come but you have to put yourself in positions for them to happen. Same way in baseball when you are trying to hit a homerun you usually won't, when you are focused on trying to hit the ball square it up and it just takes off and outta here.
Solution needs to be honor every possession offensively and defensively. This team is way to talented even young to be this far below .500 in conference. There are some bad bad basketball teams in the conference and we just lost back to back to 2 of them.

Sounds like golf. Play every shot independently.
I thought the charge call on Cooper shifted momentum. Bad calls happen. Mature players keep chopping wood. We sort of let that call get us out of synch.
The youngest team in college basketball, “and everything that goes with that. No doubt.”

Even the announcer of the game, brought this play up later, saying IF Ole Miss comes back and wins it, this play may have been the difference to us building and even bigger lead and momentum, or OM getting back in the game, which is what they actually did right after this bad charge call.
Another thing...Pearl doesn't want to use youth as an excuse anymore, and he told the team this during timeouts. BUT, we as fans can see our D is never consistent, and against stronger and more veteran teams, they can take over inside, bc we lack strength and experience. White, should never get 30 pts, but we couldn't control him inside.
On Ole Miss winning shot..it bothered me that all during the game Flanigan would guard SHuler (Flanigan being our best perimeter defender), but on that last shot Shuler was guarded by Sharife, shorter, and not a good man defender, and there over on the wing was Flanigan defending NO ONE.
p.s. I did notice Cambridge, i think trying to get Sharife;s attention, possibly to switch with him, and kept motioning to him, but Sharife never saw him.
The only 2 players that were going to take that last shot was SHuler or White. We defended poorly....

Can we hang his jersey in the rafters after he goes on to have a great NBA career?
