Finishing above .500 still kinda feels like a blessing tbh, but that’s not because I don’t expect it just because how scarred the program made me pre-2017

Every year we make the tournament is savored because I’m not sure how many times I’ll get to see it honestly

22 wins is a good goal for this team imo. 1-2 nonconference losses and above .500 in SEC

Jerry Meyer predicts Murrell to Texas. We aren’t going to get this cat either.

Some nuggets on 4* F Chris Moore. Most from Keith...

Likely the top remaining target for the 4 position
OVing AU Nov. 1-3
Memphis & Arkansas also thought to be in the mix
Plans to commit before his high school team starts their season on November 12th.

Tipoff at Toomer's highlights:

LINK skip to 2:30 for actual basketball

Wiley looks really good.

Stretch is going to make a big impact this year.

McLemore looks confident. I think he's poised for a big senior year

I really love how much fun these guys are having, they're all just out there cutting up with the biggest smiles on all their faces. Bruce Pearl really knows how to build a team, you can tell these guys are all brothers and tight af. This team will gel quick and have a lot of chemistry.

A couple other notes:

- I'm just gonna say it, I think it's time to retire Aubie's dreadlocks. It was funny in 2010, but it's starting to get cringey at this point.

- At about 3:57 the slam dunk contest starts and the first dunk is apparently a perfect score all 10s by Okoro, but instead of showing the dunk you see a 15 second close-up of Pearl walking around the side of the court until everybody reacts to the dunk. Wtf? And then they only show one dunk after that, and it was by a walk-on. But you can show a full minute of the guys team and girls team doing a line dance together?

The clips of actual basketball are cool, but whoever edited this video needs to be fired

I’m surprised he hasn’t been accused of cultural appropriation

Extremely hard to judge Wiley in a non game environment. In a scrimmage, no one is even going to attempt to contest him in the post and give up once he has position.

Until I see him in a game consistently catching the ball then going up strong and finishing without losing the ball, I am not going to base my hopes on his success.

We need a Dunbar energy guy off the bench. I think he is it

Sure hope so. Going to be interesting if he can regain his 3pt assassin form

I've seen Mark Murphy & others say they think that's going to be Cambridge's role FWIW.

He missed 2 or 3 dunks in the scrimmage. All were bad

Not gonna lie, I’d rather see an O v. B scrimmage on TV. If the event at Toomers is just geared for fans and not really for recruitment purposes, I don’t really see the point of it.

I'm talking more the guy who keeps everyone positive and enjoying themselves. For example, Malik singing all the time

Looks like Stretch's thing is dancing

Jerry Meyer has a little Q&A going on.

Kentucky recruiting out of this world.
Tennessee could sign 3 five star prospects.
Bama could sign 2 five star prospects
Auburn- Shariffe. He doesn’t like our chances with Green, Brown, Kuminga, or Matthew Mueller.

A 5* an Auburn poster asked about. We might’ve been in top 5 or something I don’t know.

Kuminga was at one point the #1 player in the 2021 class and I think he is reclassifying. Want to say we were top 5 a few weeks ago.

This class has lost a lot of the potential it once had but I still trust the staff to round it out. We probably need a little more sustained success to REALLY turn the corner in recruiting.

That and the NCAA to close our case. I'd be willing to make a strong bet Kessler would be ours now had the NCAA not continue to needlessly hover the program, maybe Brakefield too.

Will McLaughlin
@ShootyHoopsWill
6'6" forward Chris Moore, out of West Memphis, is scheduled to visit Auburn next weekend. Would be a massive recruiting win for Auburn as the Hogs are attempting to build a dream class full of Arkansas natives and Memphis has a ton of momentum with Penny in charge there
