It’s bizarre that if we had freshman Danjel I think we would be a top 4 SEC team. How does that happen?

Danjel has bulked up some and doesn't look as explosive as he did at times two years ago.

He's starting to round back into playing shape...

I think he becomes a factor in the tourney

I would love it if Purifoy takes some (by some, I mean a lot) playing time away from Samir Doughty.

While he has low usage, in 6 of last 7 games he played 10+ minutes, his KenPom ORating has been lit

v Mizz: 171
v Bama: 194
v UF: 145
v LSU: 126
v UK: 50
v UGA: 133

For comparison, Samir Doughty has only 9 games 126+ all season despite similar usage rates while on floor

Yeah that zone UGA ran in the second half really had our guys looking like deer in headlights. If it wasn’t for Okeke and Spencer doing their thing we would’ve kept dribbling down the shot clock and throwing up terrible shots which has happened a lot this season when we face the zone.

I thought Harper would do more penetrating of the zone instead of wing pass, pass back, wing pass, repeat, then late shot.

Penetrate and kick to a shoooter was what I thought the look would be, but we will see a bunch of zone if we don’t adjust.

I don't understand this KenPom rating. lol.

I thought Purifoy was worthless in the GA game, especially in the second half when we needed sparks from someone.

I agree. With his quickness, if he could just get past the first wave of zone, then kick it back out, or find the soft spot in the zone, we would have had good shots.

But he seemed slow to bring it up, as GA was mounting their comeback over 10 mins. Even the Color analyst questioned his 'lack of sense of urgency' with the ball.
WE would just dribble or pass around the perimeter, and then w/ under 8 seconds have to rush a shot.

It seemed as if Harper had problems attacking a zone, and just kept it around the perimeter.

My guess is we were trying to shorten the game with all the injuries and foul trouble. Run the shot clock down before getting into the offense. That's my guess because typically Harper does push the pace and it was weird to see him constantly throttle down

Strategy would have been fine if we could have executed with any consistency at all against that zone in the half court but that obviously didn't work out very well...

It is more of an efficiency measure, not impact.

Purifoy went 1/3 3FG & had an OReb with no TOs

Basically, Purifoy's impact was small, but when he was involved it was positive

I dont think Wiley is ready for the NBA this year.

I think Wiley and Purifoy return next year.

This was absolutely the strategy last season once Anfernee went down. I thought we have used it several times this season when we didn't have Wiley.

I agree.. with the first line, but I think we will only retain 1 of the 2. Don't ask me which one.

Purifoy is a definite no at this juncture given his age and regression.

Wiley is a definite no to any wise GM, but I could see a world where one is dumb enough to talk themselves into it.

If he can’t hold up for a college season I don’t see how he would for a pro season. Even G League. I could see Purifoy transferring but I expect Wiley back.

Purifoy looks to be getting better game by game.
