Exactly

Feel free to debate and bash him for wins and losses, recruiting, turnover, but the character assassination is fricked up.

IDK, but accusing the HC of being unfaithful to his wife / family as a means to get him canned is pretty low rent.

Why do people keep bringing this up? Where did this rumor start? That isn't even what they're going after him for? That angle is message board idiocy, it's not what the meanie boosters are trying to pin him on.

we haven't had that since Dye.

Our problem is our money people like to swing their dicks and show who is boss. They need to keep the frick out of all athletic endeavours. They think they have the right to run stuff however they see fit because they donate.

This whole situation is fricked. The coaching personnel and recruiting worried me.

All of this other stuff is a dumb and harmful smear campaign.

But it is out there now so I am not really sure how this goes moving forward. Even if the boosters who planned this lose, they will be working at it going forward.

Thank God for Bruce Pearl.

I don’t think the boosters gave a shite about basketball when Bruce got there and Bruce was allowed the latitude to build a program because the egotistical boosters were wrapped up in what our FB team was doing in ‘13 & ‘14. Now he’s in a position to do what he wants because he’s successful.

But football is a different story. We have a history of booster meddling and fricking that up which is why we are not a consistent program. Harsin isn’t jerking them off and they don’t like it so they’re punishing him, Auburn, and the entire fanbase.

What coach would take this job when the last two coaches were backstabbed and slung through the mud?

And Bryan Harsin, the guy who's own alma mater was seemingly happy to see leave, is the victim!

Yes he is. You do need to win like Pearl is to get boosters in the same direction, but Harsin has only been here a year and it’s February. This is the least perfect time to hire a coach. I’m not particularly happy with anyone in this situation, but it is what it is and firing Harsin now would set the program back even farther. And so far, the allegations are all just talk, and it’s disgusting that so many people have bought into rumors and hearsay. Give him another season.

Boosters are also quite often ruthless business people. They feel entitled when they donate large sums of money and they expect an ROI.

They're doing literally what you're describing with Bruce Pearl

Don't you get it? It's easy to stay out of it when the HC is competent. This HC is not competent. When the HC isn't competent, the boosters assemble to find someone else.

Literally none of these guys have told Harsin to do any of the idiotic things he has done. They've let him make all of the moves he's made. He hasn't been prevented from doing anything. The problem is that he's sinking this ship and nothing is moving in the right direction.

I don't think it would be as hard as you believe. A bigger question would be when has AU ever gone out and gotten a big name hire for football over the last 30 years?

If he's successfully fired for cause, then do you think he was "backstabbed" LOL?

Next coach would see a guy who was fired for being a POS and a $100 million football facility and NIL money sitting there for them,.

That’s the point I’m making - there’s a reason why we have had so many candidates turn us down.

Innuendo. Photoshop pics of Harsin with a neck brace on, Bobby Petrino style, and then tossing around the name of his 'football assistant'. That's all it takes. "With Cause" would include doinking your support staff, but no one needs to come out and SAY it outright.

Let the internet fill in the blank spaces.

So who? Who would want to come coach at our shite show? What kind of assistants would want to come to a place where this could happen after year one if things don't go as liked? Be honest with yourself......would you go to a company that is as unstable as we are? saban's first year they lost to La-Mo. and bama was 7-6. Where would bama be if they pulled this shite?

Yeah, boosters moving in different directions. They're starting to move in the same direction, moron. That's the point. Bryan Harsin's complete incompetency might actually get those guys all on the same page - at that point this is a powerful job with tons of money and resources.
