Meh game. Some good, some bad.

Being down three potential starters at receiver didn’t help. Just up and down day all over. 1st D looked pretty solid. Canion looked good. I think Dawson will be a playmaker.

We look very meh all around but about what expected after only 15 practices. Should have a lot of information for a 2 deep now and can really ramp up the reps for the first 22. Summer workouts and Drills will go a long way to determine how we look in the fall. Coach Harsin is a beat you in the face kind of coach and looked like we were taking it easy today.

Yep. With the system we are leaving and what we are going to, lot of changes in a short time. Summer will be big for growth to see who we become.

I definitely think they were trying to do a lot of purposeful situation stuff, even though it was a scrimmage. Like you said, trying to really nail down a final 2-deep. Clearly weren’t trying to run it much with our depth either.

we need to improve a lot on O. We have a lot of time for that to happen. I was hoping to see some improvement with Bo........I didn't.

1st half he looked decent. Still struggle on the downfield, but he was hitting guys. The Hudson drop could have been a real big play. He was wide open.

2nd half he looked like arse and looked like old Bo. 10/13 with 2 drop is the first half. 2/7 in the second half.

Bo is a Junior. He's had more than 15 practices. He is consistently off-target down field. Bo Nix will not fix this with 1,000 more practices.

Not sure what is out there, but we could sure use a QB from the transfer portal. We have very little chance of winning more than 8 games with Nix. Bama, GA, TAMU, LSU, and Ole Miss will be losses.

Not sure Nix will ever be great at Auburn but I expect him to improve. Not going to melt over the first spring game in the first off season of the new staff

We’ll see what Harsin can do with these guys on the roster but I wouldn’t expect too much until his recruiting classes start trickling into the starting 11

Really hope Jarquez Hunter can come in and bring some depth this summer to RB.

Do we have any wide receivers this year capable of getting any separation?

Respectfully, Jones, this has nothing to do with the new staff. We didn’t see anything incredibly complicated today from a timing, motion, or personnel perspective. Bo misses passes in essentially the same routes as the receivers have been running.

Yes, these are newer receivers, but look at the misses. Look at Bo’s throwing motion. Bo just throws bad passes.

I didn’t have any trouble understanding your point. I just think Bo improves. How much? Not sure

Have a nice Saturday

Canion made some good plays and routes. Kobe Hudson got open but had a really bad drop on a potential big play.

Dawson had a good jet sweep and tunnel screen early. Looks like a playmaker, very quick.

Evans and Capers were both out so no clue how they’ve improved. Jury is probably still out though. Saw some good things, some good blocking, but overall nothing great out of that group today.

Capers and Canion are starting WRs. I imagine JaVarrius Johnson has a good chance too as well as Kobe. They’ll need work, for sure. It’s not our strongest unit but there’s guys there. Malcom Johnson Jr is s guy that’s entering what would be his last month of high school but he’s in his second college semester. He’s going to develop I think but he’s young. Not sure I like those guys reclassifying

Dawson is another interesting recruit. I really thought he’d end up on defense when the previous staff was recruiting him but he’s got playmaking abilities.

Yea I was hoping to see more of J. Johnson today, but it looked like he was with the 2’s all day unfortunately.

Bo looked pretty damn good on the quick game like I said before. He was off big time on timing for the deep ball. The one in the endzone was bad should have turned it loose when he his last drop step. But he kind of gather and then threw it. Offense and defense was very vanilla.

Being good on the quick game was something we didn’t have at all last year except WR screens. The 21 personnel looked pretty good on the inside zone running game.

Prison Mike and in this system only 15 practices I think that was understood. Also Bo stepped up in the pocket 3 times once to throw and twice he leaked out to his left side not to the right as normal. I would say that’s decent progress. If we can get a couple WRs that can get separation consistently then Bo can take us where we want to go. (There is no expectation of a national championship this year). But winning a couple games we shouldn’t and playing tight with our rivals would be a step in the right direction.

He hasn’t really thrown many picks his whole career.

#6 is not T. Dawson it is Javarrious Johnson. He has been raved up all spring.

Dawson doesn't arrive til summer. He wasn't an early enrollee
