Bet. You're going to be quite surprised when you see this kid take over at QB.
I absolutely hope you are right. I would love to be proven wrong. I would also say that my "prediction" is only based upon the video I have seen of him, which is minimal so yeah its WAAAAUYYYY to early to say he will be a bust (even though I said it). Truly hope he balls out.

Not saying I dont believe you were told that by someone connected but he's not even a frickin' week into his collegiate career.

Definitely, and I shared my skepticism and there wasn’t much else said because I didn’t want to push the issue. Just passing it along. I’ve been hyping Gatewood for quite a while, so I’m going to take a wait-and-see approach.

Contrary to popular belief, just because NM spoke in a corn-pone country-black dialect doesn't mean he was dumb.

My saying that was really more in jest. I’m not sure about in the classroom, but Nick Marshall has a great football IQ.

I've watched this play about 100 times. I just noticed GRob's block. Jeebus.

What is so beautiful about that play and that simple offense is just that. Watch Mason through the play and all the guys going for him. They are doing that because he actually got the ball 3 or 4 times in a row before The master pulled this one..

Its human nature to try and out think things. Thats why that simple offense was so good and why we should get back to it instead of what we are doing now. Id rather the defenses over think things and we get these plays than our coach over think things and we get the BS we are getting now.

Bring this back and we can be dominate when we need to be again

I agree. But here is something Gatewood adds to that offense that Willis doesn't...power running:

Gatewood at his best won’t be denied. So let it be written official rank of GOATness inside the five will soon be:
1) Cam
2) Gatewood
3) Marshall
4) Malik
Red zone problems be damned.

I agree 100% with you. However, i think GUS refuses to go back b/c that tempo caused problems for our D. We all complained about the D back then and its fixed but he cant run the rpo like he did with the GOAT and Nick b/c it can keep your D on the field to much. Gus is still tinkering with finding a happy medium between the 2. I'm team MW also

Getting sacked 7-8 times a game keeps your defense on the field a lot too.

I will go back to a shitty defense if we can get the 2013 offense and the results of it.

its all about the end result which is go to the championship game.

But I understand what your getting at. But just screw this offense

Pushed his guy 8 yards down the field...Merrill Hoge probably lost his load looking at that running alley.

And it helped that Mason sold the fake beautifully. Here's an angle from behind the LOS:

But let us not forget how devastating the RPO could be in that scheme as well:

We just moved Iggy to cb from wr. He was a track guy too IIRC. Per 247 he looks better at cb
