Why would DeMetruce McNeal be "done" at Auburn? He misses one practice and everyone freaks out. Remember that there's a rumor of his father passing away.

Ellis Johnson, on Demetruce McNeal: "He's done everything he's got to do," but still some things to clear up. He hopes McNeal will be back.

@wareagleextra 32m

Ellis Johnson: DE Dee Ford, CBs Chris David & Jonathon Mincy have "established themselves" as starters.

@JHokanson 37m

Ellis Johnson says Kris Frost has edge at MLB, says depth chart's "fluid". Disappointed that Javy Mitchell was injured, he was playing well.

@JHokanson 41m

Ellis Johnson days they are playing a lot of "post safety", one-high safety schemes. Makes me think of Florida with Reggie Nelson.

Per jhoke Brandon King is up to 6'2 215lbs. Says he ran a 4.36 laser time 40 last summer.

Completely forgot about Deon Mix. Anyone think he may be an early contributor? I'm assuming no because he seems pretty raw

Just about no one contributes early at the inside OL and DLine positions. When I say contributes, I mean are above average SEC. Most of them end up being significantly below average.

Inside OLine and Dline is so much about both push and technique. There is no way you can expect an 18 year old with more than likely subpar Strength and Conditioning to get the push you want and need from those positions. It takes years to build the muscle to be an "in shape" 300 pound player. Even the most gifted 18 year olds will not be able to push around a 22 year old with 3-4 years of professionally run Strength and Condition in the SEC.

That is a significant reason why nearly no one makes conference honors at the line (especially interior) positions. Name all the OG, OC and DTs, that were freshman and were truly dominant.

Technique wise, unless they show up for the spring, the coaching staff simply does not have the time to teach the craft in a couple weeks before the season starts. Hand placement, movements, leveraging weight and all those things take time and reps to learn.

They were, but I thought they were working at opposite positions (McKinzy at MLB and Frost at WLB). Maybe I was just wrong. Either way, I feel good about Garrett, Frost, and McKinzy starting. Also like what we're hearing about Therezie and Mitchell.

I think we're gonna need a very solid 2 deep on D. With the offense we run, if it's not working, that defense is gonna have to be back on the field a lot, so we're going to need 2 guys at each spot that can play.

No idea what this means, but I'm gonna assume it's a good thing.

I rather our WRs not work with Cam. They're going to get spoiled by an elite QB.
