SEC has a rule that to be eligible immediately player must be in the portal by Feb 1….they voted to change it in 2021 I think at the spring meetings but failed to pass the change to make it cohesive with the NCAA transfer rules.
If they aren’t in by Feb 1, they have to sit a year if they transfer inside the conference during the spring portal period unless they are a grad transfer.

So it's a known, and the only possible change would be them improving under Freeze. What exactly is bitching in the first couple of practices going to accomplish?
The only next possible upgrade won't be coming till May or June, so yeah, let's go ahead and cry some more. The insanity some of you enjoy is amusing to say the least.

Freeze is playing with a full deck. He knows how to play the academic qualification game like Saban.
If he wants McCall, I'll bet he's on the Plains in August. In this day and age, they could attach a tutor to McCall's hip and all but write the answers on the paper for him.

I agree PrisonMike. Heck he needed 31 credits to graduate, thats not even a heavy load to graduate in the summer.
Perfect one and out to give the current guys a year under Freeze.
I think Holden wins the job this spring. But I dont think its enough to make anyone comfortable going into the fall. And so much work has gone into turning this Titanic around, I dont this one issue will go undressed by any stretch of the imagination. We will be fine.
