The fact that Hugh said he was impressed with Holden must mean a lot.
They left out the part where Freeze also said Ashford had his best practice so far on Monday, and that they limited him throwing on Wednesday and Friday due to his shoulder being sore.

Or maybe he’s trying to keep Ashford as QB2 when McCall transfers in

Do you really think Freeze is "trying his hardest" to put a QB that is a poor passer at QB1?
If Robbie is still QB1 it's because the others have not done enough yet to force a change.
I will be highly shocked if we aren't seeing a transfer emerge within the next 2-3 months.

I wouldn’t hold my breath on Mcall.

Roberts interviewed today:
Steiner/Keyes 1st string
Riley/Woodyard 2nd string
Interesting

Post a couple pages back has Geriner as 1st team. Think maybe he’s turning a corner and some of the praise he got at the pro day is boosting his confidence.

I was going down a rabbit hole and checked out his film. He's perfect for Freeze's RPO game. Is that transfer still something that could legitimately happen? I thought that was dead in the water, no?

And when asked about Tolan he heaped praise on him and said he will have a great career at Auburn. So I think Tolan is the 5th guy and he said he had 5 SEC ready LBs. Also said Cam Riley might be getting some reps at Jack after gets Will down. Also mentioned they’ve talked about trying Powell at Jack but came short of saying they would do that.

I think that’s about what I was expecting tbh, at least for spring ball.

Could mean something, could mean with Robby a little banged up they gave him some rounds with 1’s to see how he does. We have no bearing as we have no real context to what the viewing really was.

I think Montgomery's setting the playbook on the RPO system is perfect for this offense

I was not expecting Steiner to be 1st string, or Woodyard to jump Tolan.

I'm going to complain about how our beat reporters ask leading questions to the coaches and players. Every question is asked as if the reporter already has the story written and just wants quotes to plug in that fit the already determined narrative. If you ask a question about a kid with a positive slant, you are going to get a positive sounding answer about that kid (How big has Faulk been for the jack linebackers this spring?). You have to listen to the interviews to recognize when a coach is giving a polite answer, and when a coach is really very high on a kid. It's obviously much more meaningful when a coach (or player) mentions a player unprompted. These interviews are terrible as they leave very little room for unprompted observations.
It's probably always been this way, but I have ignored our team outside of football season for a while, so I am seeing it with new eyes.

For basically a week and a half of spring ball, not sure how much movement there would be. Steiner isn't a bad player. If this defense makes more sense to him than last year's, then it is very possible he has a good turn around. I could still see someone jumping him by fall, but this soon into spring, I didn't expect him to lose his starting spot this quickly, if he does lose it.
As far as Tolan is concerned, I don't think Woodyard has necessarily jumped anyone. Both are equally inexperienced. Woodyard was actually a better recruit coming out of high school. Maybe I just wasn't assuming Tolan was ahead of him as you may be?

Steiner has all the athletic ability, maybe he is actually getting coaching.
Riley to Jack, or at least an option, long overdue.
I thought Powell would have put on some weight this past year, Jack would be an obvious path at a chance for playing time for him. Isnt that what he played in HS?

Interestingly enough, when Freeze complimented the progress of Geriner, one of the reporters mentioned pro day and Freeze, just said nah not that, he was throwing at air, so it was actual practice he was complimenting.

Hopefully it clicks for Steiner like it did for Josh Bynes in 2010. He was pedestrian in the years before that.

Is this supposed to be a joke?
Josh Bynes was a 3-yearstarter at MLB. Wesley Steiner has zero idea what he is supposed to do on the football field. Literally zero football awareness or smarts.
I can't imagine two less similar players. Bynes was a below-average athlete who played ~10 years in the NFL because he was well above average in terms of his ability to understand what he needed to do on the field.
By the way, you would rationally expect a College player to play his best year as a Senior. I love how you somehow managed to turn that logical scenario into an implication that Bynes had no idea what he was doing prior to that. That couldn't be further from the truth, as proven by the fact that he was starting for multiple years already prior to his SR Season.
On the contrary, there is so little trust in Steiner that they actually chose to play Owen Pappoe hilariously out of position at MLB as opposed to playing Steiner.

God forbid I want a member of the football to succeed. No need to act like a bitch about it.
