Don't want to make a thread, but Terrance Love to the portal.

One thing I have learned, who ever gets the most praise for us during the spring will receive the least amount of PT.

You earn grizzled veteran status with that

Edit: Perry had 3 touchdown catches yowsir.
Not to poo poo on Perry but was against 3rd and 4th stringers.
Jackson’s leg injury is a hammy but could have played if the coaches wanted to see more. Plus they want to control the information getting out.

Coleman also caught a TD against a 4th stringer too. Your point is? I don’t gaf if it’s against air. When they make catches like this, it’s damn impressive.
Btw, that catch was against Lee. When did one of our starters become 3rd or 4th string?

So are they still charging for this one hour scrimmage?

Final period live scrimmage Auburn ended the practice with a 15-minute scrimmage between the first team offense and defense. Damari Alston got the start at running back, rushing on the Tigers first two plays. Knight’s next two passes were incomplete wrapping up the first series for the Tigers. In the second series, Jeremiah Cobb got majority of the reps at running back as the offense failed to score on back-to-back drives. Alex McPherson missed a 55-yard field goal to conclude that drive. Perry Thompson continued his stellar day putting the offense in the redzone to start the Tigers third series. After two incompletions from Knight, Towns McGough drilled his second field goal attempt. On the fourth series, Knight was intercepted by freshman safety AnQuon Fegans in the red zone. Knight followed up with a touchdown on the next series to Horatio Fields.

After zero inceptions all spring I think he’s thrown 5 INTs the past 2 practices

I think Love hitting the portal is a good thing for him, looking at our safety position, and then watching the newcomers Newboy and Winters both get picks in Aday, well better for him to see if he can get playing time somewhere else. I wish him luck.

All the "our freshman qb looks great in spring practice" narratives mean nothing to me. Positive Spring narratives almost never materialize in the Fall. We even over hype Cam Coleman, who has yet to deliver against a talented opponent (maybe im forgetting a meaningful catch he had). Malcolm Simmons is even less worthy of hype.

The two INT clips I, one wasn’t a great throw over the middle, but good awareness by Eric Winters. The second one, was a little late on the throw but Anquon Fegans made a great break on the ball too. I think WR could have done a little more on it to shield him off. Either way, really good DB play there which was nice to see.

You bring up a good point go crazy. Ive seen the interviews with the coaches and players talking about throwing it where the receiver has a chance on 50/50 balls.
I think the coaches are watching the receivers as much as the QBs on some of these balls and encouraging the QBs to make the throws to see how the receivers perform. Why waste a rep, let it rip and lets see.

Yep. On the second int, receiver should have started to box out as he got towards the corner but he kept trailing away. May not have mattered as Fegans had a great jump on it, but maybe would have been incomplete instead.
On the first one, there was a similar TD he threw to Simmons going the other direction. Don’t know if it was before or after. So, either DB remembered and read/baited it well or Deuce learned and made a better throw. Was a good learning opportunity though

Probably not surprising with how it sounds the freshman are playing.

Freeze wants some more Dlinemen. Gotta make some roster room.
