If you’re going Toyota go with the 4Runner. You’ll thank me later and I’ll invite you to the club

Honor, the fam and I have 3, 2001 SR5 black 4x4, still looks amazing. 2004 sport edition full time 4x4 V8. It’s a tank. 2014 SR5 4x4 black. They wife’s ride. And I have a Dodge crew cab 1500. Plus in the drive way is 2005 Honda hybrid civic.

The 2004 4Runner is my baby. 3” toytec lift. -12 offset 17” Red Dirt Road black and milled rims, magnaflow exhaust, jvc head unit, spc upper control arms, badlands 15,000lb winch, custom front steel off-road bumper. It’s an absolute unit. Mud, dirt, climb I’ll take on any Jeep. Rocks that’s a different story.

I’ve been eyeing a new one myself. The off-road edition. Because I would self upgrade a lot of the lift and suspension so no need in getting the TRD pro for me. I’d probably choose the white, army green, sand, or Calvary blue.

Any 4Runner enthusiast can join up at T4R.org.

Corch, you sure you aren’t running a cult?

Got a new sig today, how'd y'all like it? I think it looks pretty better than the last one I made

Hungry is the name of the game I'm playing today! Craving some food, don't care if it's anything, I'll eat it.

Good day to be IMing

Smart move slacker. Plus insurance if your son has good grades won’t be to bad on the 4Runner

Pro tip from an insurance buddy of mine: put your kid as an additional driver on your insurance instead of the main driver on their vehicle. They’ll still be fully covered, but your insurance won’t change much.

When I got married, I had a mid 80's 4runner. Gold/Bronze with a black top. The entire top back then was removable. It was a bitch to take off and it took up your entire garage to store it but it was a nice vehicle. If I am not mistaken, they still had the 4 cylinder engine back then.

It was a nice vehicle. I did not have it but a few years but I liked it.

Looked like this but with a black topl

Almost every modern car looks like a variation of the same bubble to me now. Maybe I'm becoming my dad or something but almost all cars/SUVs built in the last 10 years look so similar to me it's like they swap logos and that's it... plus you can barely work on them yourself.

Long winded way of saying I'm a pre 2005 or so car guy ha

it depends on your insurance. With USAA ours still almost doubled just because we had a 16 year old on our policy, regardless of main driver or not.

Why we switched to Geico. It still was higher than without him but not nearly as crazy as USAA.

I have a 2003 Oddy with over 200k on it and a 2005 accord that has over 340k on it. Transmissions are needed for both so it is time to buy a new or used vehicle. The transmission costs more than either car is worth...

I hear ya... I have a mid 70s corvette, an early 2000s jeep and an 80s wrangler... None are really "reliable" so if I had a considerable commute I'd definitely need to get something with less headache.
