I mean in hindsight it definitely seems like a good move, but he was probably ready to move on. I don’t love the idea of someone being HC just because their dad was great but I think Steven actually has some real potential. Could be Bruce hyping him up, but he seems have a great basketball mind and is supposedly responsible for a lot of our development with big men. The thing for us whenever he takes over is going to be the different personality style because he ain’t Bruce

Goodness gracious UF is good. Might be a blessing we lost a close one to UTk today.

They are good which is why the UT game will be so interesting considering last time their defense crushed UF.

Bruce has earned the right to name his successor. If it goes sideways after 3 years then move on and go get the best coach you can.

As I’ve mentioned before I do hope Steven goes somewhere and builds his own coaching network for 2-4 years and learns some do the coaching mistakes somewhere else. I think Burgo would hang with him if Steven is coach but not sure some of the others would.

I would think Burgo and Prewett stay but I agree, I could see Bowman and Williams getting poached.

Ira I could see getting a job at a mid major now. Somewhere in the north east he would kill it.

If I was Georgetown I would go after him now. Elite recruiter and from
What I understand a hard worker. Hire a coupe older coaches to help him and he would be solid for them

I’m happy for Tre he was the one I had hoped had stayed. Would have delayed Pettiford’s development tho.

We need to go get a PG in the portal.

Even when we were flying the lack of a consistent penetrating guard concerned me. Hopefully, we'll overcome it but it's hurting us right now.

Walter Clayton jr probably should have went pro after last season.

He's not even projected in the first round this year. Probably got more in NIL than he would leaving, like Broome.

Might have taken some of the pressure off and let him play more of the role Bruce says he was recruited to play too though.

Can he zone in on free throws?

This team didn't go through one of the hardest schedules in program history, winning all those games, and just suck all of a sudden

I mean that appears to literally be what has happened
Albeit they don’t suck and it’s the hardest conference perhaps in history this season but they’ve become a shell.

What's the opposite of peaking? I don't want to say cratering but whatever the opposite of peaking in the playoffs is what it feels like is happening.

I'm throwing the A&M game because I really think that was hangover/letdown city after winning the title and bama coming up.

The other two losses were in OT and within a possession with under a minute to go against two top 6 teams in the country that we lost because we couldn't make free throws. It's not like we are getting run off the court.

When it comes to fandom the difference between the greatest team ever and one in complete freefall is one made shot in regulation and a few free throws.

I am worried about our confidence after getting beat pretty routine by teams just as elite in the last two weeks.

Dont want them to lose the aura of being an elite team.

As for me: I've lost complete confidence in a bad matchup. Not all matchups just elite on elite.

Well anyways this thread was a dud. Unpin it and I am not doing the next one.

I am guessing MANY brackets in my work's winner-takes-the-pot league will have Florida winning it all. What is the best contra team that will catapult mine if Florida fails?

I won the pot using a similar strategy during the 2023 UCONN championship run when Alabama was the popular pick (and UCONN a 4 seed) despite having an overall mediocre bracket.

Let's hear your predicted champion and I will revisit once the bracket is announced.

Here's mine: Oklahoma. Ok now seriously.

Pearl's kryptonite is also when his guards aren't driving. Look at the Bama game. He's got shooters all over the court. If it wasn't for the Tahaad 3's in that game we would have been run out of the gym. They had their whole roster driving past us. Our guards will not drive the ball lately. If you're not going to drive, at least try to and draw fouls. Chaney's disappeared because of that. Jared Harper knew exactly what he had to do for his offense. They have to get it. Stop trying to spot up 3's every possession. Coaches need to do better too. Only thing I can figure is we're really fatigued and beat up trying to battle every possession on defense.

I mean Denver got hacked twice for a no-call on one of his drives. Was an embarrassment for the refs to watch that replay. Felt like Denver especially was giving up looks at 3 to try and drive more today
