SEC Tournament Thread

We very well could end up playing Kentucky, A&M, and then Florida if we want to be resilient. 3 games in 3 days.
If upsets happen before we play we need to pick up the resilience and aggression.
But, SEC tournaments dont matter

If we win Saturday i won't care that much about the tournament, don't want to limp into the tournament though or risk getting bumped from Atlanta

Limping is the last thing we need. l Never know how many seasons like this we will have though. Would like to squeeze all potential that we can.

Yep. Let’s win everything in front of us.

mE, i'm not worrying about field of 68, it's as much to do with luck as with being the best, where as sweeping the SEC this year is a ready possibility.

Fun fact
No team has ever won the NATIONAL TITLE and lost there first game of there conferences tournament. So we HAVE TO WIN game 1.

Sticky'd for the tournament.
Let's still do individual game threads for our games, as discussed we can keep this going for all other SEC Tournament discussions, other team's games, future matchups, etc.

Nobody will remember or care if we win the sec tournament, we are at the point in our program where it's time to make noise in the big dance. Sounds like a defense mechanism on your part. Bruce will almost certainly never have a team with this mix of talent and experience again and you don't care what happens in the tournament? I can't understand that line of thinking at all.

One game at a time.
Don't know how to be any plainer.

I think Florida is going to win the tournament. Clayton, Richard and Condon are potent and they beat AU and Bama on the road which is pretty impressive. I hope they have a let down game in the NCAA tournament and drop one...

UF is playing as good as anyone right now and seem to be very fresh. They will be a hard game for anyone.

What is this boards obsession with fatigue? They also just lost to Georgia were they tired then but magically rested now?

It is an important factor in tournament basketball

UGA played great, shot incredibly well, and beat them.

Both us and Bama seem very beat up - we jointly played the hardest schedule in the nation and we play each other to end that... we got fortunate with the schedule that we didn't end on a skid like Bama did.

I personally think we are in pretty good shape other than maybe Denver. We had more of an emotional letdown last game than anything

Anything can happen in the tournament. You hear that line all the time bc it's true. We made a final four with a team not as good as the Jabari Kessler team that got bounced first weekend. As long as Bruce is here we have a chance to win it all. The SEC championship banners are the ones that solidify the season. If we get bounced early this is still hands down the best team I've ever watched. That won't take away from that.

I think Broome’s shoulder is a little off. Not anything serious, but he has had moments the last two games where he has gone to the bench working on it some. Probably just tight or a little extra sore. Just something some extra rest would probably do him a world of good.
Other than that, Denver is the only real concern long term. CBM seems to be fully back.

That's one reason why I wouldn't mind bowing out of the tournament. Dont you also think similarly?
Posted on 3/6/25 at 6:28 pm to jangalang
No, I'd rather win it than lose round 1 because I don't think it has nearly the negative impact people here think it does and history has shown that pretty conclusively based on that stat someone posted the other day.
Also, I can't believe how openly you guys are devaluing the NCAAT. You do get that's the point of all of this right?
