Its not the losses as the lack of high level consistency outside of Johni. Someone said it the other day, when our guys are bad they can be awful (like Pett today) and we are getting absolutely nothing from Chaney, Moore, or Turtle. Pretty encouraging we have still gone to the wire with two top 5-6 teams without playing anywhere near oir best

we just lost 3/4 to end the season with several key contributors underperforming. Having trouble defending without fouling. how does anyone feel confident going into NCAAT

I agree with you here. For the majority of the season our offense was just a barrage and had numerous guys that commanded attention on offense. Right now it feels like Miles is the only one teams are worried about. Today there were multiple times Tenn doubled Broome just begging him to kick it out to a guard. Earlier in the season we knocked these down more often than not.
I don’t know what’s up with Chaney. Not sure if it’s teams being more physical or they’ve seen something on film that they’re doing but he’s been a ghost during this rough stretch. The early fouls are obviously hurting him too.

FT shooting, missed wide open shots, and Pett crippled us today.
We need to go get a PG in the portal. Pett is just not a PG. When he is hot he is damn good. When he isn't, he is a liability on both ends.
Tough loss. Our warts have been showing for over a month. The UK game we played well. I can't think of another game, outside of UK, where we have played well in over a month.

We are certainly the antithesis of the 2019 team.

I feel pretty confident. We have only lost games to teams that would be considered 1 or 2 seed teams in the big dance outside of aTm. That game was just kind of meh and coming off clenching the regular season championship.
The Chaney thing doesn’t seem all on him. The clear out when Broome gets the ball is limiting his touches a lot. I’m more concerned with our 3 point shooting in regular offense.
FT shooting was bad today. UT shot FTs very well. That was the difference. Both really good teams.

Kind of like, how we had to go,to freaking Seattle last year in the first round after winning the SEC Tourney.
Again, the committee is not even paying attention to the tournaments at this point aside from an AQ team that wasn’t going to get in. It was the same for the FF team when they didn’t move up after demolishing the SECT and the same for the 22-23 team that fell apart at the end and somehow was a 9 seed in Bham.

I’ll be glad when the committee selections is done tomorrow so our nega tigers stop melting down. We will be in Lexington next weekend and Atlanta the week after.

so you think Auburn, who is 1-3 over our last four, will be over Duke?
Posted on 3/15/25 at 3:09 pm to MrAUTigers
Absolutely. Auburn without a doubt will be the number 1 overall. 16 Q1 wins

Take of the orange and blue glasses.
You can talk Q1 wins all you want. Duke is Duke and we have been struggling.

Even if we are the second #1 seed it doesn't particularly matter, as Duke wants to be in the East bracket regardless. Which leaves us in the South bracket either way.

This.
And if Tenner gets the #2 seed it likely puts them up in Cleveland with Baylor and UCLA possibly.

We won the SEC tournament last year and felt super confident, and got bounced in the first round. Bama ended the season last year losing 3 of 4 and went to the final four. Not sure how our confidence level matters.
Either our guards will play and shoot well and we'll go deep in the tournament, or they won't and our offense will be a struggle. Hopefully Denver and Tahaad are shooting well the next couple of weeks.

Tahaad played like a freshman unfortunately Chaney cant get going. Our depth chart is a lot smaller than realized. I am sorry I jinxed Chaney.

Guess we will see tomorrow. At least we don’t have much longer to wait.

Shooting just over 50% free throws will get you beat. Shitty FT % has been killing them the past couple weeks.

Tahaad 0 points is the story.
That and horrendous FT shooting.
We also missed our last four open looks at a 3-pointer.
It was a winnable game, we didn't play badly overall.
Time to refocus, get rested and ready for next weekend.
Somebody has to win 6 in a row...why not us?

This pretty much sums it up, and a little luck, and fair officiating
