While I find the event pretty boring it's arrival means that football is right around the corner. So in celebration of that fact let's talk 2018 season. Lemme see your predictions so we can all tell each other how wrong & dumb we are

Offensive: Stidham-AU
Defensive: Davis-bama
Biggest surprise? USC winning the East
Biggest disappointment? Gus not playing enough freshman at the end of blowout games
Whose your breakout star pick for AU? Nate Craig-Meyers
What gets complained about the most this season on this board? Gus not using more than 1 running back. duh

East: UGA, USC, UF, Mizzou, UK, UT, Vandy
West: UA, AU, MSU, A&M, Ark, LSU, OM
Top offensive & defensive players in conference?
Offense: Locke just based off the numbers he will put up.
Defense: I think Simmons for MSU will have a really strong season.
Biggest surprise?
USC giving UGA a run for their money.
Biggest disappointment?
Bama v UGA SECCG
Whose your breakout star pick for AU?
Asa Martin/Boobie Whitlow
What gets complained about the most this season on this board?
Gus ends up rotating RBs too much and our 1000 yard rusher streak is broken.

Top offensive & defensive players in conference?

Top offensive & defensive players in conference?
I don't follow the whole SEC close enough in the offseason to speak to the other teams, so I'll stick to AU.
Offense: Stidham
Defense: Derick Brown
Biggest surprise?
Has to be USC if they end up winning the East. I'm hoping they pull the upset early in the season at home against UGA. If that happens and we beat UGA, no way they lose 3 other conference games.
Biggest disappointment?
MSU or UGA. Just based on their expectations and where I predict them to finish in the standings.
Whose your breakout star pick for AU?
Has to be which ever RB leads the way. I think Kam Martin has a solid season, but I think Boobie ends up being the 1k rusher of the two.
What gets complained about the most this season on this board?
Probably o-line or WR development. Definitely something related to the offense, after winning a close slug fest to UW or LSU.

Is USC really supposed to be that good? There are a lot of big time predictions for them this year. Seems maybe Muschamp can coach after all?

I'm a little surprised at well in confidence in Gamecocks. Curious how much of that is hate for UGA or legit belief SCAR will be good this year

I think they will be the clear #2 in the east this year. They have a QB and I trust Muschamp to have their defense playing well.

Defense: TD Moultry (leads SEC in sacks
)
Darius Slayton breaks 1,000 yards
Jimbo Fisher's debut season
Boobie Whitlow & KJ Britt (would include Moultry but I think most here think he will be good)
Nate Craig-Myers still doesn't get enough targets

East: UF - UGA SCAR MsZ UT UK Vandy ... Expecting law of averages to strike at Georgia, because it also takes luck to finish out strong. And Muschamp seems to be a champ HC in name only.)

I like their future with Mullen, I'm just not sure he has the QB right now. Once he gets a year to work his magic they will be tough.

Recruiting is still going to be tough with Miami and Richt and FSU doing well. Tons of players to pick from but Mullen is going to have to give them a reason to pick UF again
