No worries dude. I love his story too but it’s another inexperienced AU dude.

Disagree about the inexperience. It’s not like we hired him from the high school level. Dudes been a coaching at the college level for years, and his last couple stints were at decent schools under pretty good head coaches.

He was a GA at both Penn St and GA Tech then progressively moved into bigger DB coaching roles ending up at Houston one of the top non P5 schools out there.
Last season at UH he coaches a PFF 3rd Team Al American and another All ACC DB. He was also named to the AFCA 35 under 35 list of rising Stars in FB coaching
If you remove the AU element, it may not be some home run but it is not a bad hire at all
EDIT: Derek Masons background is DB coaching. Not like we are just going boom or bust w Etheridge's coaching ability

Etheridge have any track record as a recruiter yet?
He was considered the top recruiter in the Sun Belt at Louisiana
Should be able to carry over connections he made from both Louisiana/Texas, as that would be his primary areas past two seasons

What happened with Ryan Pugh? He got fired from Baylor one day after accepting the job.

Picture surfaced of Pugh in blackface.

Baylor isn’t exactly the highest moral authority.. Career trajectory is probably now shot.
Was this Auburn? Seems like we had other linemen do that.

Well played. Hopefully he can recruit the SEC like he did the Sunbelt and I’ll love him like I did when he was wearing number 4.

I have an enormous erection with the hires honestly. It’s going to compliment well with what Harsin said he wanted to do. He is doing what he said so far with the hires.
Reposting. Dick grew a couple inches.

Does anyone know if this guy has any potential involvement in the investigation at UT? Apparently this Mims kid that signed with UGA (OT I think) is part of the investigation. I can't imagine they wouldn't vet that pretty thoroughly. I don't know anything about the guy and don't follow recruiting enough to know what's up at UT. I just wonder if this should be a red flag. I've also always thought that Bobo looked like the kind of guy who might steal your lawn mower so I might be biased. He's got those shifty eyes.

I guess I nailed the interview. Thanks for the input.

Rumors that TWill will be retained today or this weekend

That picture was on this board years ago. It isn't new.

It was apparently new to Baylor.

Zac Etheridge is a legitimate hire and a sneaky-good one at that with Derek Mason being a DB coach by trade. He has no direct connection to Harsin or Mason, so he got here based off of recommendation and interview (through Ted Roof). His resume actually isn't barren and he's been moving up rapidly - he's coming here from Houston where he worked under Dana Holgorsen and prior to that he was at Louisiana with Billy Napier. I know that when he was a player here that several of his teammates thought that he was incredibly smart.
