I appreciate it that. And for others, as the poster said above, apparently you weren’t here in preseason as well as early in the season when we won Maui. I have hyped up our team ALOT. I know what this team is capable of, however, I’m also not going to just be a homer because I root for Auburn. These last few games Auburn has clearly regressed. These lapses are the same ones from last year. Clearly Pearl has not coached these guys on how to stop the bleeding whenever a team goes on a run. It’s a good thing we are up so much because these games are now getting tighter and tighter. It’s a pattern with this team.
And for the poster who said I’m not here during the game, yea, I know, it’s because I’m watching it and waiting for the game to end to give my thoughts about it and process what happened. Again, I don’t just post negative comments, I have posted many times after a big win about the good things. Lately though, there’s really been nothing to be really positive about. We are struggling to put away mediocre teams we clearly outmatch and we haven’t even played the toughest games yet. That’s not good. So yes, I’m not going to say everything is great and as long as we win by 1 that’s all that matters, because I know this type of play is not sustainable for success, seen it fail too many times in basketball.
One last thing, I was ready to gloat after we were up over 20 with under 10 minutes left, but then Auburn began to Auburn again.

Well- a win is a win. At least we don’t have to have anxiety over having peaked yet! Ha. Lots of things to coach up and keep guys focused on.

Guess Bruce gets something named after him. What an accomplishment for him at AU.

Now…..it only gets harder from here with #1 on our backs. So those expecting perfection, better pucker up.

Bottom line?

This is fun guys. Enjoy it.

We fell from +36.9 to 36.65 I think. Fell like 7 spots in defensive efficiency. Texas had like 60 points with 4 minutes left before some tough fouls/techs went against us and definitely some clutch shots from Texas. Duke had a major leap for sure to close the gap.

At the end of the day, this is the best Auburn basketball team we’ve had since our final four season, and may be one of the best I get to watch in my life time. I’m not going to nitpick the final minutes of a road game against a solid Texas team. We are going to get everyone’s best shot and it’s we aren’t going to get perfection in every game for 40 straight minutes. Learn from it and keep on winning. This team is too much fun to get down about how it played out.

Tx has a 14 pt avg guy go for 34, AU picks up 2 techs and wins by 5 on the road. Yeah it was frustrating at times but it’s a long season. Give me the W, there’s gonna be other games to complain about.

Good luck young man.

I’ll just say clutch FTs shooting, not turning the ball over late, and winning close games will be the thing that gets us tournament ready. All those accomplished tonight

We could have been easily Tennessee or Kentucky today but we pulled it out. Props to the team. If we had gone crazy on their stud, we would have been in foul trouble and maybe couldn’t have closed out the game.

Haven’t hit a wall when you are going on the road and beating top 50 KP teams is all I’m saying. And yeah tons of room to get better. I continue to love that every time we really need a bucket we always get a really dang good look with one of our best players

You’re right. A couple days ago it was 36.69 and then Duke doing so well today made it go up to 36.88 and then it dropped back to 36.65 after our game.

You’re welcome. Stop policing my post for grammar you will wear yourself out.

Is Auburn and Vandy the only 2 teams to win on the road so far in conference?

I honestly don't know much, and I know I said frick a lot down the stretch, but I do like we clutch FTs (12-14) in last 5 minutes while UT was 9-9.

Did suck to be outscored 15-26 in last 5 minutes.

And all of those were weak spots with last season's team.

Also Tre Donaldson is a stud. Felt like he was a year away last year

Yeah, definitely wish we still had him instead of Pegues.

5 players in double figures
21/25 from the FT line
15 assists
10 blocks
34-29 advantage on the boards
Only 9 turnovers

You win almost every night with numbers like that.

The difference tonight is our defense let us down and Kaluma was unconscious. 12/16 from the field and 5/6 from behind the arc. Sometimes you gotta tip your hat. And hey…we won!

Again, I don’t really lose sleep over this believe it or not, ??. As I have said earlier, I’m just passionate about basketball having played it and been around it almost my whole life. There are things that I pick up and analyze that make me concerned about this team’s future performance. We had looked unstoppable the first 12 games of the season. But the last 4 games, it looks like there’s a negative trend going on with our team and I am now trying to see if we have just hit a wall or have peaked too early. If we just hit a wall, that means we can get back to where we were before earlier in the season. If we have peaked, every game is going to be a struggle more than likely other than if we just get hot one night and go off. So yea, I’m hoping this team is what I thought it was coming into the season. But again, there are some concerning trends that I see that aren’t sustainable to continue to be successful.

Regardless of whether it should have been called or not the Broome tech was huge and cost us four points after he hit that dagger while up against the shot clock. That put UT in a position to play the foul game.

So, the defense and talking a bit too much (arguably a hair trigger on the call) combined to put them in that position.

WTF are you possibly bitching about with the Purdue game? We were literally up 29 points on a top 20 team with two minutes left and put our walk-ons in.

And as another poster said my man, learn paragraphs.
