Any word on how the visit with Brod went?

Some drama here. Possibly Jay Hardy is already signed with Auburn. Where are the internet detectives on the board?

While maintaining that he didn’t sign early because he was in FL for basketball, @Volquest_Rivals
has learned that Jay Hardy DID SIGN with Auburn on December 19th. Hardy told @AuburnRivals
earlier this week that he was shutting down his recruitment but actually did so last month.

I’m not signed yet

Boom!!! KN is reporting that Hardy’s recruitment is over.
Tennessee fans should be ashamed of themselves.

That’s huge. We need all the DL we can get.

Didn’t they just help Bama?
He already said he was shutting down his recruitment and not visiting UT. Then it was reported that Bama was flirting with him.
If they left it alone, couldn’t he have stung Bama along?

I am glad he signed and his recruitment is officially over but I dont care for the games these kids play these days.
I dont care if its Hardy, or Zach Evans. If a kid signs somewhere it needs to be public. And the games Romello Height played on Miami disgusts me as well.
These games they play are for the birds.

Well known bama has some connections with these recruiting sites. Wouldn't surprise me if they floated that to see if he was interested. Backfired.

I don’t consider this to be games. I consider what Height did to be games.
Some facts:
1. Late signing day commits enjoy a heightened sense of exposure due to being amongst the few left to sign. Not to mention he can sign with his friends.
2. Since Hardy already signed, our coaches didn’t have to worry about visiting him and could visit others. Coincidentally, we visited him yesterday.
Win/ win for both parties.
Will never work though because it’s too hard to keep that kind of a secret.

Jay G Tate says it appears Woodson will remain at Auburn after serious overtures from Ole Miss.

Tennessee Vols Rivals reporter is still mouthing off. Maybe there were some games with them that I don’t know about.

I think some writers cover their arse with the whole “games” routine. It’s nice having guys like KN who are established and can just report what they know without playing to the fanbase’s desire

On Crowder & MLB —
There’s a lot of ways that baseball teams can take a guy in the top 10 rounds and still make the money work. I’ve heard Crowder wants to go to college and prioritizes football for now
You never know but with McLaughlin already on board it’s not an unwise decision still.

Article on Hardy:

quote:
On Saturday afternoon, news broke that Jay Hardy, a 4-star defensive lineman from Chattanooga, had officially signed with Auburn. Almost a month after the Early Signing Period, Hardy’s signature had seemingly finally come in for the Tigers and ended the rumors that he would eventually go with his in-state team in the Volunteers, who had still been courting him over the last month.
If Tennessee’s coaching staff would have been paying attention, that recruiting would have ended on Dec. 18, 2019.
According to a source, the fact that Hardy had signed with the Tigers had been public information to coaches since last month as it was visible in the NCAA compliance portal.
Were the Vols coaches privy to the fact that they could just look it up? Nope. Did they continue to visit Hardy, with the recruit possibly telling them that his signature was still available? Most likely.
Yet the game continued and, the fact of the matter is, this all falls on the Tennessee coaching staff.
How is it possible that none of them knew that a place existed where they could simply look to see if a player had signed? That must be shocking to a large group of fans of the Volunteers. Each coach is given a sign-in and password for the site so he can keep track of where someone has possibly signed.
If they knew the site existed, which is doubtful, did it not come up once to check? What is going on inside the halls in Knoxville? Is Jeremy Pruitt awake?
While Hardy wasn’t exactly truthful with the coaching staff in Knoxville, it is hard to blame a kid for wanting more attention during the recruiting process.
In the end, the Volunteers’ staff comes across badly, as if they are ill-prepared in the recruiting process while Auburn knew for a month that they had him signed, didn’t let on and now have a top recruit coming to campus.
