The difference between Gus and a lot of college coaches is that he rarely puts it on his players to win a one on one.
absolute pure BS. For some reason Stidham loved throwing into double coverage, while another guy was wide open, but that was on him. We have had guys wide open in both games so far.........our QB just wasn't on target.

Yeah.. sometimes the guy he is trying to scheme open is covered because the opponent has seen it all over film and our players aren't coached to adapt.

I'm just wondering what Gus has done worse than the others?
3rd and 2 to start the fourth quarter against Oregon....he calls a reverse
Losing to LSU after being up 20
Losing to UGA in '15 AND '16 even though we were clearly the better team.
Losing to FSU after having a commanding lead.
Losing every bowl game sans Memphis and Purdue
Running dive plays after a first down 85% of the time
Recruiting well on offense only to limit them to one role albeit blocking or a wheel route.
Saying he will not be as involved in the offense then calling every play.
LOSING AT HOME TO TENNESSEE
Almost losing to non power 5 teams year in and year out.
Being ranked in the top 10 almost annually only to shite the bed.
Struggling to dominate Miss St.
Saying that Sean White is the starter only to pull him after a couple plays and rotate 5 players at the Qb position.
Going to a two point conversion to start the season and failing, then never trying it again.
Settling for FGs in the redzone
Not having a passing route tree that is worthy of a division 1 school
Not recruiting OL that can hold their on in the SEC
Telling me that were getting our edge back then falling flat on his face
Losing 4-5 games a year
Getting dominated by LSU, Bama and Georgia
Wearing a fricking sweater vest
Hiring Kodi burns as a WR coach because he played for you
Hiring bullshite OCs
Not developing a Qb
Running the hidden midget play
frick it, there are so many more reasons why I hate that fricker as our coach, but i have to get back to work.

While I can't find issue with most of your complaints, this one surprised me:

This doesn't move the needle for me. I see a lot of people pro Malzahn that are supportive because of this but we pay way too much money and have way to much around the program to be an 8 win team with 10 wins every now and then. If that's the case lets hire Kevin Steel or Twill for 1.5 million a year and take our 8 wins while pocketing 6 million bucks

This is what happens when play "36" is throw a 10 yard out to Darvin Adams

I'm tired of losing so much to our rivals

Gus is the true definition of Insanity.
Who else in the SEC would hire him as their HC.
Not one University.

Tulane 2019
eta: my mistake on Ark St 2014. It was Kansas St that i saw, but it said "at"Kansas St and i read it as arkansas st.

The 2 games in 15 are the only games that were ever in doubt. Also Auburn didn’t play Arkansas State in 2014.

I have to respectfully disagree. I think maybe half the conference wouldn't, but I think the other half would not mind taking a shot with him. While he is very frustrating, he has won some impressive games and kept the football team in order (few internal controversies or academic issues).
Overpaid, absolutely! But that is on Auburn. We gambled Gus turned the corner, but it was really just a roundabout. Hopefully Gus will take the next corner.
If we are going to criticize him for 1 missed play wins, do we give him credit for the many 1 missed play loses then?

So you’re saying that Vanderbilt,Arkansas,Ole Miss and Tennessee wouldn’t take Gus?
I understand some of you despise the man but come the frick on.

I was responding to the above post that no one would hire him. Keep moving the goalposts.
