From Nathan King on 247 apparently the pecking order may have changed
Hugh Freeze mentioned this morning that Holden Geriner had a really strong week of practice last week.
Payton Thorne then went a step further and said Geriner took more reps in practice ahead of the Vanderbilt game than he had all season? Was there anything to prompt that? "That's a question for coach," Thorne said.
We've been told Geriner has been putting himself in position to be Auburn's QB2

He does love him some Robbie. Rumors are that Robbie hasn't reacted very well to his decreased playing time

Ashford has played a lot and thrown very little. Distrust is obvious.

Being at the game Saturday and seeing Ashford on the sidelines, he looked pretty disinterested… granted that’s not uncommon for a backup.

I wonder if that is why Robbie didn't practice last Monday...CHF may have given him the news on Sunday. I hate it for him, but thems the breaks.

Should we ignore it? It's not personal. The rumors are there if you like it or not and he did miss practice last Monday.
Freeze also brought up Holden today without anyone asking.

Tbh, would you blame him? He outplayed Throne against aTm, thUGA, LSU and Ole Miss. But we also heard these rumors before, and they were debunked.

Robbie is most likely gone in a few games. He’s an athlete, but QB isn’t where he needs to be.
