If we had to get a QB from the Portal
Ward and Jack Miller are who I prefer. I want the Young Guys or guys who didnt get replaced by another QB.

BS, How about we do this instead? Get all of them from the portal and instead of spring game. Everyone sit in the stands and watch a chicken fight for starting position.
Besides ....if the Offensive line gets any more miserable ....all of them will be in a Mash Unit before the end of the season ..
But for a few months you'll be happy while we march into a 2-9 season. But you'll get your quarterback.

Don’t know if it’s been posted but found a 247 article ranking portal QBs.
1. Cameron Ward - FCS - Last season 65% 47 TDs 4,648 yards
2. Dillon Gabriel - UCF - injured last year. 2020 - 3,570 yards 32 TD 4 INT 60%
3. Rattler - off the board
4. Max Johnson - LSU
5. Kedon Slovis- USC great year as a freshman. Injured last two seasons. Heisman candidate before this past season. Stats have regressed every year
6. Myles Brennan - LSU
7. Bo Nix
8. Zach Calzada - A&M
9. Zach Gibson - Akron - didn’t start full time but got a PFF grade of 91.2 when on the field

What about Max Johnson? He had his moments this season. He’s a pocket passer. He’s also young and has time left.

I personally think Max Johnson would be an upgrade to Bo and TJ while being a great bridge to Holden. Helps his brother is a highly rated TE, too.

That first touchdown he threw against us this year is the best pass I’ve ever seen by a college QB.

On the LSU QBs in the portal:
Myles Brennan has all the tools, but he is made of glass and hasn't proven he can stay healthy. Like at all. I'd be very concerned with him behind out OL for an entire season.
Max Johnson is a guy that I think could do well. Especially to hold down the fort until Geriner is ready. His accuracy is in point, but he struggles big time with pressure. The dude is a gamer and will lay it all on the line to win games. Are there better options? Sure. But we could do a lot worse as well.

I don’t want LSU leftovers. Maybe with a good QB coach (like Davis and Harsin) they’d be fine. I just think there’s more attractive options out there with greater upside, so I hope we at least try to go for a little more.
