I guess this thread slipping to the second page is a bad sign.

Not really. The only QB in the portal right now that would excite me is Gabriel and he’s probably a long shot. Guys are going to be entering the portal for the next few months.

Nix dragging his feet about transferring cost us Jack Miller.

Forgot about Ward. He’s another I would love to have.

For some reason I’m thinking Kiffin is going to get Ward.

Seems like a long shot for us. I’d pick Kiffin too if I were a QB

Isn’t he going to UCLA.

He committed but never signed. Not only is Kelly's future at UCLA undetermined, but their Senior QB hasn't even ruled out coming back yet. Apparently our staff is still in contact with Gabriel.

Just curious to see if any of you may have thought Harsin kept Finley in to make a statement that he is NOT the guy. Also Holden is probably the guy, kid is way different than Bo coming in as a freshman.

Even still, do you want Finley to come back in if Geriner gets hurt? Gotta find depth.

I want Brock V from UGA. Let Harsin have a year to develop him and redshirt Holden. That separates them by 2 years. Then you have your pocket passer and a very good armed athlete to start with a shaky OL gives both time to grow up. By the time Holden is ready you should have your OL and QB room straight. That’s just my opinion. You keep getting rent a QBs it just turns into a cycle.

I think Vandagriff hits the portal after the NC, and I think he does end up at Auburn.

I think that would be ideal. Beyond some of the guys that have already left and gone somewhere else I don’t think you have any higher upside. Gabriel I’m not sure is a good fit at AU. Hell I’m not sure he’s even a good QB. Honestly I’ve only watched him a few plays just doesn’t seem to have the size or arm strength to compete in the SEC.

What makes you think this other than the guy on Locked On saying it? He seemed to be guessing at best

Are you saying Vandigriff would be the starter next year, while Geriner redshirts?

Do we want to go into Harsin's 2nd year with another inexperienced starter in V?

Or are you saying bring in Gabriel too, if you can, or some other veteran to try to weather the 2nd year?

I’m saying at some point you are going to have to go with a first time starter. You can’t keep going out to find a QB just because of experience.

Was also saying if we were able to get Vandagriff he would be a good solution for inexperienced and a new offensive line as he can run it some as well as throw it. Holden can run in an escape the pocket sometimes kind of player but you aren’t designing run option plays for him. And you have to consider the up side of Brock. Could be special and UGA would never know it they mishandle QBs worse then any other program it seems

I tend to agree that Gabriel doesn’t fit at AU in this offense

We did that in 2019. Despite all that talent on both sides of the ball we had to start a TF and that prevented most team goals from happening.

Signing someone with experience isn’t a bad strategy.
