Maybe it ain’t. Just thought we would pick one of these guys down before they left.

What's to say we haven't? Rarely do we announce commitments like that, unless it was already planned before somebody came for their visit. Usually take a day or two to get graphics together, info releases, etc. We are also no stranger to do mass announcements together. Just saying the ability of anyone to get real info in these situations is much worse than normal recruiting, so the scraps people are tyring to predict or give timelines too is even worse than normal. No reason to jump to conclusions.

Winning those games puts us at 10-2 with losses to bama and georgia. You gotta think we're in the playoffs then.

Ahh yes its that simple again.

Alabama RB Justice Haynes enters the portal

There was some smoke there at one point. Guess we’ll see if his name pops back up

I'm curious how much of this is due to scheme or what because their RB's barely ran the ball.

I'm really hoping we impress the ULM back. I was blown away watching him against us. Would be a great piece as far as roster composition too, assuming Cobb and/or Alson stay.

The Athletic put out a QB Top 30 ranking earlier today:

1) Darian Mensah
2) Jackson Arnold
3) Fernando Mendoza
4) Maalik Murphy
5) Kaidon Salter
6) Devon Dampier
7) Conner Weigman
8) Miller Moss
..
17) Ashton Daniels

Here are the writeups on Arnold, Murphy, and Daniels:

quote:

When he replaced Dillon Gabriel as the starter, Arnold was expected to become a star, but offensive line and receiving corps problems severely limited Oklahoma’s offense, and he was briefly benched in favor of true freshman Michael Hawkins Jr. Arnold entered the portal in the wake of the Sooners' hiring Ben Arbuckle away from Washington State as the new offensive coordinator.

His 2024 numbers (1,421 yards passing, 12 TDs, three INTs, 444 yards rushing, three TDs in 10 games) are less a reflection of his talent and ability and more a result of the circumstances. A reunion with former Oklahoma OC Jeff Lebby at Mississippi State is possible, but Arnold has a visit to Auburn scheduled, and Wisconsin and Ole Miss are also interested.

quote:

The former Texas backup thrived in his first season in Durham. He led Duke to a 9-3 season and finished seventh in the ACC with 2,933 passing yards while completing 60.3 percent of his 421 attempts for 26 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. The California native is 11-3 as a starter, including a 2-0 mark at Texas in 2023. Auburn, Ole Miss, Missouri, Syracuse, UCLA and Oregon State are among the schools showing interest so far.

quote:

Daniels was the primary quarterback for Stanford the past two seasons but he is still raw as a pure passer. His best season came in 2023 when he completed 58.8 percent of his attempts for 2,247 yards, 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions. His completion percentage climbed to 62.7 percent in 2024 but he threw for fewer yards (1,700), touchdowns (10) and more interceptions (12). Daniels is a threat on the ground and led the Cardinal with 669 rushing yards in 2024. That athleticism will surely be enticing for some programs that could maybe talk themselves into Daniels’ passing improving with a better support system.

I don't like acting like I know more than I do so I'm not gonna act like I know if the money for Cam would've kept us from getting KLS.

There have been videos by people like Marcello that said Freeze wanted to build through HS and then strike with bigger fists in the portal when we were ready.

That doesn't mean the money wouldn't have been there if he wanted it.

It means the transfer portal bandaid wasnt top priority, so if we are not going for broke then Ward is no cant miss prospect.
